ID:464 is a 1935 Ford 5-window coupe Street Rod.
The body has been chopped 2½ inches (modified) and the wheels are painted aftermarket alloys, so technically does it qualify to be in Official Guess The Car Thread?

Ram

No it does not as it is a one off car. The engine is also not original in these rods. Not counted as an entry.:)

ID:464 is a 1961-68 Fiat 2300 Coupé S.
The design with the beautiful wrap-around backlight, comes from Carrozzeria Ghia.
Its 2,270 cc straight six developed 105 bhp and pushed the car to a top speed of 195 km/h.

I believe that is Laila from "Saadhu aur Shaitaan" starring Mehmood, Pran and Kishore Kumar. This cab was featured in practically every scene. I somehow remember the regn. being different, but I could be wrong. (Is it my imagination or have you touched it up?:))

My guess is she is a 1940/41 Plymouth.

ID:465
The cab looks like Mehmood's (Bajrang as he was called in the film) cab Laila, in the film Sadhu Aur Shaitan as Karl has recognized it.
The car looks like a 1940ish Chevy deluxe/Master deluxe, although the pic also reminds one of a Pontiac from the same era.
The pic quality being somewhat hazy it is difficult to identify the car correctly between the two.
I can Identify the song though..."kabhi aage kabhi peeche, kabhi oopar kabhi neeche..."

Karl and Gogi, you got the movie spot-on. And Gogi, the song is absolutely right.

No Karl, the regn. is correct. And yes, I have improved the sharpness on the number plate as it was poorly focused in the original.

The car is not any of those, you both've mentioned.:)

By way of hints, may I post another pic and a pic of the same car from elsewhere.

The movie was produced over two and a half decades after production of the car. My guess is the taxi owner lacked ability to source the NOS headlamp bezel with built in parking lamp. So they replaced with a plain bezel and mounted a simple parking lamp (that much IMHO, is departure from original)

Hope this helps.

No @AMATMO, it was not specially made for the movie. I have seen taxicabs like this one, on the streets of Bombay, in the mid-1960s as a schoolboy. They dwarfed the Landmasters/Ambassadors which were called Chhoti Taxi (छोटी टॅक्सी).

Actually long after phase-out in Bombay, these taxis were still found in areas like Nashik-Tryambakeshwar, MH and Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani, MH.

However with the passing decades, they are no more found there either. Karl was saying you may be able to see some in Junagadh, GJ.

There is, of course, the occasional single specimen that shows up in the rallies at Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata. Karl, would you have pics?
