Bugatti 16 C Galibier Concept Revealed

Bad news first. The all-new Bugatti 16 C Galibier Concept car is not for Frankfurt consumption. Sorry. But it will be officially revealed at an exclusive event in the next few hours. Good news is that we have some details on what Bugatti CEO Franz-Josef Paefgen describes as "most exclusive, elegant and most powerful sedan in the world."

Power comes from the works 8-litre 16-cylinder motor with two-stage supercharging. It can churn out between 588kW (800hp) and 735kW (1,000hp), all of which is channeled to all four wheels using the AWD system. Standard fuel is petrol but ethanol can be used as an alternative. To stop it running away from the driver is a set of powerful carbon ceramic brakes.

True to the teaser images that were flashed recently the rear features four exhaust tailpipes on either side while the rear window is integrated with the third brake light which runs vertically from the roof down. The wings and the side doors are made of polished aluminium and the rest of the body is built on dark blue hand-made carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). Large LED headlights flank the imposing Bugatti radiator grille.

The interior is characterised by the flowing surfboard-shaped dashboard made of fine wood and leather. The centre console features a large LCD screen while the speedometer has been deliberately placed in the middle of the dash so rear passengers can see just how fast they are moving. A very stylish feature is the Parmigiani removable Reverso Tourbillon Swiss clock which can be worn on the wrist through its cleverly-designed leather strap.

Previously a number of names were suggested for the 16 C Galibier, including Lydia and Bourdeaux. But Bugatti has chosen to name it after the classic 4-door Bugatti Type 57. Galibier is also one of the most difficult alpine passes along the Tour de France.

Its looks supremely exotic and the interior looks supremely retro!
But it looks horribly fat despite the few innovative design touches, especially at the rear.
A better paint job than this ghastly one would make it look better IMO!

It has a panamera rear, which doesnt look good.Other than that very beautiful, especially large slab of wood as the fascia.

The Panamera butt looks plain ugly. This is awesome in a Vida Guerra-ish way :D :D (go on google)

I can bet you anything that that's going to become the fastest tree on 4 wheels

Horrendous Paintjob.!
The chrome is making the car look like a Pimp-Mobile.

definitely better looking than the other models but still a 'TRASH CAN.'

why is the VW group stuck on sticking the hatchback design for its super exotic sedans. Well, the lambhorghini estoque is the only exception. For all that you know, the Bugatti version could've been built off the panamera.
but wasn't VW supposed to close Bugatti after the veyron production was stopped? Correct me if I'm wrong.

The interiors looks really cool and amazing.I like the HL and TL which looks bold.

But i hate the side looks with the aluminium finish.A better paint job would look good

The roof-line is similar to that of the Panamera!

panamera has a lookalike now. But the interiors are just so luxurious.

Stunning looks. This looks like a low-rolling version of a Q7, looking at pic3 and pic5 in Hanmust high-resolution set of pics. I couldnt read the signature on the dash in those pics. All in all, a very beautiful and powerful sedan.

:uncontrolI almost burst out laughing. I hope you know what you said brah! Because thats exactly what it is. rl:

I like the dimensions and lines. But I might not buy it. I will instead invest in RR Phantom/Ghost. Who wants to go fast when one can enjoy the ride while the jet waits for my arrival.

For fun let the Veyron and jet drag race.

OT:
In the recent series of Top Gear. They had a drag race between Stig driven McLaren F1 and Hammond driven Veyron. Guess what, Veyron was slow to pick up but then it took the 1 mile drag. And TopGear concluded that Veyron was better, but I reckon if the drag was replaced by left and right handers with a hairpin and chicane McLaren would have driven circles around Veyron.
