"Param" on an avg if we take 30000-50000dhs it turns out to be 4L to 6L for these amazing vehicles. what are they upto?..... So less and how come ion india for the same vehicle it is double(leaving the import duty for the parts)..

the import duty in the middle east or GCC is 5% only. apart from that there are no other taxes. when a sale is made the registration and insurance fees is collected. even this is sometimes waived off or discounted by the dealer...in india the import duty, VAT, CST etc(do i need to say more?)....all this adds up to the difference of the sticker prices

All counted together, the taxes in india are closely coming to 100% of the cost of the production. Image the Honda accord at 10L in india. Most of these cars like Honda and Toyota are highly priced in india.

I guess this very clearly gives out the kind of taxes that are levied on car manufacturers. And on top of that, they need to make their profits as well.

In fact, the dealers make very little commission per car, but they kind of cover a lot of return during the ***. Also, we need to see the kind of volumes these markets have and we are yet to get there to make a difference.

Believe the cumulative taxes in India are around 60%. That in itself adds up a lot.

why not

This is in a country where its probably considered cheap to drive such cars and these are the entry level cars..not for the rich as like in india..
BMW, Mercs are sooo common to see..surely these are cars for the middle class based on what i know from people who live there
Man- let me find a short term work assignment to go to UAE..what fun!!!!

I'm not surprised. This stuff is far cheaper in the Emirates anyway. Maybe it's discounted 5-10% max in these pics. Go see the US market, your eyes will pop out. I saw 25% off on NEW cars from dealers when I went there this May.
