Our generation witnessing the most respectable upgrade or innovation on the car scene. A new car designed tackle the speed of 1610 kilometers per hour. This is incredible and a great speed achieved on the earth.

Would you like to know more about this car? here is a piece of information I grabbed from Wiki "Bloodhound SSC is a pencil-shaped car powered by a jet engine and a rocket that is designed to reach approximately 1,000 miles per hour (1,600 km/h). It is being developed and built with the intention of breaking the land speed record by the largest ever margin. If £10 M of sponsorship funding is obtained the construction should be complete by the end of 2009 and the record attempt may happen in 2011."

Now I'm sure people will think about "Jet 1" car races, only thing that worries me is the track to run this piece of engineering.

London: Researchers may have cracked the formula by which a supersonic car (SSC) capable of reaching a record speed of 1,000mph (1,600 kmph) will cope with the aerodynamic characteristics of travelling that fast.

Simulations by researchers from the Swansea University look at how the car will deal with the supersonic rolling ground, rotating wheels and resulting shock waves in close proximity to the test surface at the record attempt site in Hakskeen Pan, South Africa.

While as the car will make high speed test runs of up to 800mph in 2015, the full 1,000mph attempt has been scheduled for 2016.

Is that the real car? Looks like a model on trolley wheels.

Doesn't seem to be real, this is a model with visible cut section, also the tiny front wheels confirm that this is on a trolly good for speed upto 10 kmph so that the model can be pushed from one location to the other.

Not bad for showcase though, one should know the new gained capabilities in automobile sector.

Bloodhound completed the first public test drive today.
Its essentially a jet engine or the car, aiming to reach supersonic speeds on the roads.

I watched a very interesting video by Top Gear on the Bloodhound SSC and its recent run in South Africa. There is actual footage of the run from both inside the cockpit and outside. Sharing for other people who might find this interesting.
