Toyota Sienna to feature Auto Access Seat

My Grandpa is getting very close to hitting a century, he would love a feature like this now. This is cool.

This feature will be a boon for families with elderly people. I remember how we used to keep a small stool on the floor for my grandpa to climb into a Maruti Omni while 2 persons had to hold him.

This feature was custom done on Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Minivans in the past. This feature will be real good for Handicap and elderly people.

Lots of JDM mini vehicles have this feature factory fitted due to the large #s of elderly people in Japan. Pretty sure Wagon R also has this in Japan.

This feature will be a huge success point for sienna. I hope Toyota get something like this in Innova too.

Definitely a boon for the elderly. I read somewhere that there were plans to get something like this fitted for the driver as well, so that people who use wheelchairs/ scooters( for the elderly/disabled) can move onto the driver's seat with ease.

Did not know Caravans had this option. The Caravan conversions I have seen have a hydraulic ramp or a step for wheelchair access. The hydraulics often have a large bump on top of the van or a body kit underneath. This one looks so much more cleaner as its designed from scratch by the Toyota engineers.
