Is this Fiat's new entry level car?

Pics from burlapp cars via blog mentioned on it.

Is this the car that Fiat plans to launch in 2011 here? Or something similar?

Very very interesting. Entry level cars are always sure candidates for India given the low cost associated. This one looks macho like an SUV and would have takers. Hope they keep the cost low. Why don't they hire some marketing bigwigs from Maruti and set the ball rolling ?
Maybe Fiat first should change perceptions of A.S.S and then they should launch this. What say?
I know Fiat isn't stupid to stick with Tata all the way. They would have their own plans. Now they want to launch this, would be good to do so in 2011-12.
Thanks for the speculative scoop, sid boy aka scoop specialist!

Very un-Fiat. I hope it is something else - like a Renault.

Looks ok, and kind off macho.

Regarding the comment about hiring marketing guys from maruti: Just because they are leading in terms of market share does not impy that they have the best marketing guys. Yep if the AStar and Estillo too were winners we could have taken that.

The Tata Marketing team is by far the best in the country but they have to over come manufacturing challenges to get where they are.

FIAT is best served by the TATA alliance in India and it should see the fruits of this alliance in the next 1 year as TATA too comes into its own with the slew of new launches.

Getting back to the car, the thick side claddings are new to the segment but the slab like vertical rear will have some lovers and haters both.

It looks similar to the Panda, a practical hatch like Wagon-R.

It's a good option in the market but where will they position in this crowded segment?

Looks more like a Renault, not Fiat's design style

It reminds me of an older design of 3*3 = 6 seater Multipla that Fiat had introduced in Europe. Looks very similar to it.

Those looks like alto head lights, too early to predict but will bomb in market.

That was one ugly looking car though very practical. In one of the German Auto shows, it was one the top contenders for ugliest looking cars of the century.

I hope they don't bring it here. And anyway, it won't fit into the entry level hatch segment.

This is mostly the new Uno. I had earlier read this in the link below. I am not impressed. Unless this car is priced really less, I mean in the level of Rs. 2 lakh, there are no chance of this car getting success. Also more cars on road = more cars for service.
Fiat cannot handle this as its in link up with Tata, which itself is not rated good for servicing its own cars.

It seems that the Fiat Uno will definitely be making a comeback.

These pics come to us courtesy of Novidades Automotivas, who apparently have obtained the photos directly from the Brazilian government patent and registrations office.

The pictures, of course, show a work in progress, so it's difficult to deduce what the final product Uno will actually look like. What we see here are some distinct design lines, though, such as the unique grill with large "teeth" and the fold line in the middle of the hood that runs the length of bonnet from the front badge back up to the windshield.

Engines for the Uno will include a 1.0 liter ethanol powerplant with 75 hp and a 1.4 liter called the Evo, based on Fiat's current 1.4 liter block.

Luggage space is reported to be a very limited 200 liters but the Uno will have a fuel tank of 48 liters, giving the car a generous range.

Fiat, however, does not appear to have plans to take the Uno back to Europe. The Uno will be sold only in Brazil and some other South American markets.

A 3 door car, that would be a first for India. And if it is launched with the right price and features, the Yeti already has competition. Hooked to this for more.
