Please remember this car has nothing to do with the CLS (which will launch in the 2nd half of 2010) this is going to be the new 4 door coupe based on the C class.

Are you sure? Because many magazines are saying its the 2011 CLS. Also the spyshot seems very similar to f800. The tail lights, frontal appearance and side profile indeed points at being a CLS.

Please give us some more info if you are saying its a coupe based on c-class.

Mercedes F-series are study cars or rather concept cars, it wouldnt be fully adopted to any model. But Mercedes will highlight some design & technological hints which would follow in the upcoming models. For instance the night view assist of F600 is now in S & E-class. The diesotto engine from F700 will be debuting soon in Merc models. Like that there will many elements from F800 Style to be seen in the upcoming Merc models and the first model to get the hints would be the upcoming CLS.

Looks awesome to me.

Rear pivot-and-slide doors ensure maximum entry comfort

A particularly customer-friendly innovation of the F800 Style is its rear doors. Whereas the front doors are attached to the A-pillar in a conventional manner and open wide toward the front, the rear doors slide backward when opened, as they are suspended from an interior swivel arm. Because the doors slide back close to the vehicle body, occupants find it much easier to get into and out of the automobile in tight parking spaces.

The F800 Style also has no B-pillar, making the entire space between the A and C-pillars completely accessible when the doors are opened. Despite the lack of a B-pillar, the F800 Style boasts a bodyshell that is both extremely robust and lightweight, and that meets the stringent demands for crash safety that are a hallmark of the Mercedes brand.

I liked those rear sliding door!

Macho/Mean looks from the front have also been taken into the rear bumper. Except for those big exhaust vents (?) integrated into rear-bumper everything in this car is perfectly slotted.

chevelle,
This is a car that will define the future design direction of Mercedes-Benz and the man behind this concept is Karim habib who penned the BMW Concept CS and the new BMW 7. He was roped in some time back by Mercedes-Benz by then the upcoming CLS was already ready in terms of design, if you look through the details while you might see similar touches but this is a whole new design direction for MB and it's future models, and the entire basic body shell is going to be the C class based 4 door coupe minus the sliding rear doors and the futuristic touches of the interior and lights.

The CLS will look a lot conservative compared to this as it will follow the existing design language with some new touches from the SLS which also can be seen in this concept in terms of how the grill etc. is.

On a second thought I have a gut feeling MB is testing waters with those doors at the rear maybe .. just maybe for the upcoming A/B class? or even the C class coupe?
