Weirdest trade ever: Bugatti Veyron for a Corvette ZR1

Quote:
Imagine you’re an auto dealer, bored like hell in a day with no customers. And suddenly there’s this guy entering your dealership and telling you this: "I will give you my Bugatti Veyron if you give me in exchange a Corvette ZR1!" What will you do?
And this is no fairy tail, it happened for real to All American Chevrolet of Midland, Texas. They gave a $107,000 ZR1 for a 2008 Bugatti Veyron with just 20,307 miles. You have to known that a used Veyron can go from $1.4 to $3.6 million depending on condition.
There are no details on this trade, but we are very curious about what really happened in there. So, if you have details on this let us know!

I believe there is something more then meets the eye here, It can be a stolen car, something wrong, an accidental refurbished, anything like an engine issue.

I mean how can anybody be so outrightly stupid.

This is the craziest piece of news in a long time. If the car is clean, with papers et all, then the dealer has just made a fortune

Wonder why we needed to trade it in at all? A Veyron owner should have the moolah to buy himself a Corvette, right? Or maybe he ran out of garage space?

I am

Another probable (read wierd) permutation could be a kit car with a rebuilt or a copy of a Veyron engine.

I concur with this statement. The Veyron may be a replica car built on another car with similar dimensions.
Off topic: I was browsing the internet for 2nd hand Ferraris in UK (to figure the price, not to buy one!), and i came across a F430 for 18k pounds. I was zapped, and only after going through it, i read it was a replica built on another car platform (Toyota MR2 I think).
So this may be a similar case.

ummm... read the article fella's. The owner is a Texas Oil Baron who counts Lambo, McLaren etc among his collection. He did not do a straight trade for Veyron, it was *CASH* + a ZR1. I am guessing, lots of cash. The dealer who sold the ZR1 lined up a buyer for Veyron before he did the trade for ZR1.

As mentioned in one of the comments, it could be the 'In the lake' Veyron. I remember reading that the owner of that Veyron bought himself another Veyron, and was looking to get some work done on the car that went into the lake (so he could sell it later).
This is America for you!

May be he must be tired of refuelling the veyron again and again!
Or he must be drunk at that point of time.

Can anybody give me his address? I only want to visit him to buy any used car he's wanting to get rid of.
Imagine this guy selling a 2 year old Lambo for $20k or something

LOL by the way!

I would do that in a heartbeat. Why buy a Veyron when you can buy 10 Corvette ZR1's for that price?

...... and now the flaming starts.
