Here's the new Audi R8 GT which is a lighter version of the R8 V10.
Audi Engineers have swapped in a thinner glass windshield and polycarbonate rear windows and replaces many aluminum body panels with carbon fiber. By going over every part of the R8, they have carved a total of 220 pounds off the standard R8's curb weight.
The 5.2-liter V10 has been bumped from 525 horsepower to 560, topping its cousin, the Lamborghini Gallardo. The GT is only available with the R-Tronic hydraulically actuated semi-automatic, and when pushed to its limit, the R8 GT is claimed to accelerate to 62 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds and on to 124 mph in 10.6 seconds. The terminal velocity has been increased to 198.8 mph.
Only 333 examples of the R8 GT will be built and the price in Germany is €193,000 ($256,000 USD).

Looks much more masculine than the R8 V10!! The rims are screaming style!!
Well,the rims look the same as the ones on the V8 model,albeit a bit smoked.They could have called it the R8 Super Veloce though!;)

Wow. The R8 has just got more meaner. IMO, the rear with those open air vents give it a lot of character and distinction. I too didnt like the spoiler which is the only downside.
The alloys look teriffic but the design looks like aftermarket. But, i am not complaining.
Would be interesting to see a head to head comparison including a dash with the baby Lambo:)
The taillamps look amazing,but with the spoiler and all,seems like the original lines of the r8 getting a bit blurred.

Audi has finally released full details of the new V10-powered R8 GT Spyder!
Visually, the R8 GT Spyder sets itself apart with a dual-lip front spoiler, carbon fiber winglets on the front bumper, round tailpipes, a larger rear diffuser and dark LED taillights. Power output is identical to the coupe, with the 5.2-liter V10 producing 560 horsepower and 540Nm of torque. Audi claims a 0-100 kph time of just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 320kph. Like the coupe, production will be extremely limited, with just 333 units scheduled for production. That exclusivity will surely carry a hefty price tag, expect it to carry a premium over the coupe's $198,000 MSRP.
