The reborn and reimagined Fiat 500 is arriving soon to America. Born in Italy, perfectly tailored for America, the Cinquecento is as vibrant and engaging as it is fit and nimble. The Fiat 500 Sport, featured in these images, illustrates Fiat's smart and stylish design aesthetic. Like the original Fiat 500 a half-century ago, the new Cinquecento continues its timeless value while embracing individual expression and opportunity - all infused with world-class craftsmanship.

The Cinquecento offers unique adaptations for the North American market and is designed for individuals who demand that style and fashion can coexist with practicality and functionality. Matching its sport-tuned suspension, the Fiat 500 Sport features athletically styled front and rear fascias with a larger grille and flared aerodynamic treatment. Between its unique 16-inch aluminum wheels with Mineral Gray painted pockets, the Cinquecento incorporates new body-side sill cladding for an enhanced sport appearance.

Completing this athletic vehicle's appearance are Performance Red painted brake calipers, a chromed exhaust tip and gloss black shadow-line window trim. The Fiat 500 Sport also features an available SkyDome power sun roof for an ultra-open view of the world. The Fiat 500 will be also available in the Pop and Lounge models with unique exterior cues and different equipment options.
The world-class 1.4-liter engine with Fiat's state-of-the-art MultiAir™ technology powers the Fiat 500 Sport. MultiAir significantly reduces emissions while improving fuel economy and power delivery by up to 10 percent when compared to similar engines.

The Fiat 500's technology, driving dynamics and interior features have been intelligently adapted for the North American market, and it will offer small-car buyers a stylish, high-value alternative. The all-new Fiat 500 will be available for ordering later this year in the Sport, Pop and Lounge models, followed by the all-new Fiat 500C (cabrio) in the spring of 2011.

Bolstered by the success of the recent conversion kits (one 500 Abarth in three is converted using the official kit), Abarth has expanded its range by launching the world premiere of the esseesse kits for the new Fiat 500C Abarth and Fiat Punto Evo Abarth models at the 2010 Paris International Motor Show. These are designed to improve performance, handling and safety without having to sacrifice the car's low emissions and fuel consumption.

Fiat 500 US spec, 500C Abarth SS and Punto EVO Abarth SS revealed-fiatpunto_evo_abarth_esseesse_2011_1024x768_wallpaper_01.jpg

The stand will host two esseesse cars that perfectly illustrate the spirit of Abarth tuning, encapsulating substance and unassuming good looks: in accordance with brand tradition and market requirements, Abarth cars are a mix of sporty yet elegant looks and safe driving experience, yet always with sporty performance levels. The Fiat Punto Evo Abarth esseesse is in fact capable of 180 HP with truly thrilling performance levels: maximum torque of 270 Nm at 3000 rpm, top speed of 216 km/h and acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds. The esseesse kit for the 500C turns the scorpion-branded convertible into a genuine open-topped sports car: 160 HP, maximum torque of 230 Nm, top speed of 209 km/h and acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds.

The Fiat Punto Evo Abarth esseesse is exhibited with a Campovolo Grey body, named after the airfield, still operational today, that is located opposite the company's historic headquarters in Corso Marche, Turin. This was where the young Karl Abarth used to buy paint for his cars, the very same Campovolo grey shade used for aircraft. In detail, the Punto Evo Abarth on show combines this particular colour with an Abarth band in the body shade and 18" alloys in a special titanium-coloured esseesse design. Inside, the car features Abarth Corse by Sabelt seats in black leather with a distinctly sporty design and an Abarth Blue&MeTM MAP satellite navigation system complete with telemetrics developed with Magneti Marelli.

The Fiat 500C Abarth esseesse on the other hand, comes with an elegant Campovolo grey and Pista grey two-tone livery with a white chromatic liner, an element that divides and at the same time combines the two 'souls' of the car: the elegance of a cabriolet above and the out-and-out sporty performance of the esseesse kit below. The Fiat 500C Abarth esseesse is exhibited with an original Record Monza exhaust silencer (dual mode with variable counterpressure) that enhances the engine sound above 4000 rpm and, as on the Punto Evo, with an Abarth Blue&MeTM MAP satellite navigation system with telemetrics.

These two models may be very different but they share a single spirit, the sporting spirit of the Abarth scorpion logo, which has proved itself capable of igniting the passion of thousands of motorists with a taste for challenge, performance and Italian style. In the words of the advertising slogan "More power to your senses", on an Abarth car all your senses are stimulated to the maximum. The perception is further amplified by the two kits that guarantee even more driving performance and adrenaline: all in all, the Abarth conversion kits represent empowerment taken to its highest levels.

The Punto Evo Abarth version looks awesome and is one mean looking car. The 500 Abarth front looks like a weird car from China.

We all know Fiat are masters when it comes to small cars. I wonder why Fiat doesn't get these models to India atleast as a Limited Edition for us enthusiasts.

I'm not a Fiat lover, but I'm willing to make an exception on these two; these care are not manufactured, I guess, they're crafted. So lovely to eyes. I wonder what would be the price tag of these in US? Would anyone prefer this over Mini Cooper or Chryslers?

Re: Fiat 500 US spec, 500C Abarth SS and Punto EVO Abarth SS revealed

Now, even 5 seater and 7 seater versions are going to come soon. I found the details here:

FIAT 500 To Get 5 & 7-Seater Versions | MotorBeam - Indian Car Bike News & Reviews

Quote:
FIAT plans to do with the 500 what BMW has done with the MINI. The Italian automaker has confirmed its plans to launch more variants of the 500, including a 5-seater and 7-seater version. The longer vehicle will be known as the 500L, with the L signifying large. The FIAT 500L will have 5-doors, a high roof and will debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March. The front will be unchanged and will resemble the 3-door 500. It will be based on a widened version of the FIAT’s small vehicle architecture, which is used on the Grande Punto. Measure a length of 4150mm, the 500L is 60mm longer than the regular 500.

The new ad for Fiat 500 Abarth in US is out. I am not sure what was the idea behind using an actor whose career is on a downward spiral and is considered the "worst hollywood actor". But Charlie Sheen is favourite actor

I thought the 500 was already available in India?

Fiat India

I think I read somewhere that the price will be around 15-16 lakhs for the base 500. That is pretty high for a small car.

If I were to buy one, I'd buy this one: the limited edition Fiat 500 "America" edition, just 500 will be made *drool*.

Re: Fiat 500 US spec, 500C Abarth SS and Punto EVO Abarth SS revealed

Fiat has announced the expansion of its Abarth range. The 595 Turismo and 595 Competizione are offered as more powerful and better-equipped alternatives to the standard 500 Abarth.

Quote:
Both 595 models feature 160bhp versions of the 500 Abarth’s 1.4-litre T-Jet engine, which offers performance identical to that of the 500 Essesse.
The original 500 Abarth will remain as an entry-level model, which has received a £500 price cut. That model will continue to be offered with the dealer-fit Essesse tuning pack.

Re: Fiat 500 US spec, 500C Abarth SS and Punto EVO Abarth SS revealed

'No bespoke model' for Fiat's Abarth brand.

2010's Abarth 'Speedster' sketch had been said to preview roadster and coupé derivatives of the Fiat 500'

Magnanini put thoughts of an Abarth Panda or 500L to rest, too (calling the latter "inconsistent with the brand"), leaving Abarth to focus on its existing 500, 500C and Punto models.

Abarth is also unlikely to add more power or supplement its 1.4 turbos with larger Fiat Group powertrains like Alfa Romeo's 1750 TBi:

The Abarth 500 Punto ranges currently peak at 178bhp.
