Neat pics Steer. First it was all the pics by deftones and now you too Steeroid. Come what may, I wanna move out of this country.

Thought Mahindra was pretty keen on selling their Scorpio's in Dubai. Did they have a display too?

A lot of amazing pictures of a lot of amazing looking cars. Reminds me of a time when I used to go visit the Detroit Auto show. I did that more frequently than I went to Church in 6 years :-).

Guys

When you say Honda Accord platform, what exactly does it mean? As far as I could see the car is much smaller than any Accord...plus it has a mid-rear mounted engine and a front suspension setup thats different from any Honda I've seen.

I did read that the engine is Accord-derived...but would that make this a Honda Accord kit car?

Nice pics Steer. Bugatti looks GOOD :-)

Didnt the "Brit manufacturers" Aston Martin and Bentley have a stall or did I miss it in your pics?

That said, the new Laguna is quite nice looking - it fits into my idea of what a car should look like, the engine seems quite smooth and the interiors are very well done. I havent made up my mind yet, so we'll wait and see. The Azera is VERY tempting at those prices, though - BMW quality is the right word.
Had rented a 1.9TD Estate version of the Laguna here in October and driven it for about 500miles over 2 days. Lots of gadgetry and space. But the space is not as well laid out as in a Focus. Smooth, tourquey, enthusiastic motor.

The ride at the back however is suspect. After a moderately winding section of a major A road in Wales, everyone in the back wanted to throw up and my son ended up with his mid morning snack on his shirt!!

Suitability for Dubai and long term reliability are not things I can comment on....

You mean the extended families of Ford and VW, respectively? Yes they were there, nothing very spectacular though the Continental Coupe is one of my favourite cars. Another Ford is also part of my list of favourites - the XJS!

I do have pics of those, but I chose to concentrate on those that attracted the most attention. Among the supercars the ones that attracted the biggest crowds were Lamborghini and Merc's SLR. Among the 'normal' cars the ones that had the most number of people crowding around them were the Peuguot 407 and the Hyundai Azera. Needless to say, there was a HUGE crowd of Indians around the Azera - almost like a mela.

Yep, the extended families that the Brits just refust to let go of ;-)

Like you, the continental GT is one of my favourite cars too (of course not having driven, cant justify it authoritatively), with the right blend of performance, real world driveability, comfort and luxury. The only flip side being its high price.

But the current object of my obsession is the Bugatti Veyron. I was reading this review of the Bugatti. Apparently it has 2 keys. 1 for normal driving which will take you upto about 235mph. The 2nd key is to take it beyond to about 250mph. To insert the 2nd key, you have to stop the car, and insert it into a special slot. upon insertion, it lowers the suspension, reduces the drag and other such modifications to reduce grip but increase speed!!!

The engineers who worked on it say it was far tougher to design the Bugatti than an F1 car. This has got more power than an F1 car and this has to last 10-15 years unlike F1 cars which has to last only 1000km or so!!! So you are talking additional strength and durability without introducing weight!!! The engineers apparently got a lot of grey hairs during the 5 years of development!

Saying its "based" on the honda accord isnt really true. What is it is a kit car that uses Accord parts. It uses some accord suspension bits, electronics, windshield etc., but its so its economical to build. Theres plenty of donor accords around. Its a mid engine, RWD sports car. And it dun come with the engine.

And this car only weight 850kg (1250lbs) that's really light. This car is kinda like a lotus elise in some way.

And in europe the company is working to power the car with a 2.3L Duratec Engine V6, that should be really nice
problem is that it's takes some time for delivery and some time to build it.

check this out....http://www.dynamic-performance.co.uk/....the uk distributors....keke wana get one in india...
