2011 Suzuki Solio. Similar to the WagonR

Hi guys,
I found this article today which says a new suzuki solio has been launched in japan, it is quite similar to the new wagonr here but is also surprisingly different.

I think it would be launched later than sooner possibly along with the new swift in 2011 end considering that maruti has recently upgraded the wagonr and maruti has also officially said to launch a new variant of swift in 2011 end.

Dont think so.From the looks of it,i think its a "kei car" made exlusively for the japanese domestic market with a 660cc engine.

The wagon-r has just undergone a substantial facelift of sorts and dont expect maruti to invest again in new capital for new sheet metal changes for the Solio.

Yep Even I dont think this would be a Wagon R replacement or for that matter it would never make it to India.

Wagon R was recently refreshed & it wont happen so soon again. Also none of the refreshes have been so drastic so as to incorporate a sliding door which frankly is silly on such a small car.

The solio is a handicapped-only (welfare) variant based on the wagon-r sold in japan with sliding doors and swiveling, stow and go seats, so it will never come to India.

It has a 1.2 k series engine according to the article

All (mini) vans everywhere in the world have sliding doors and stow and go seats etc. That doesn't make them welfare variant

The Suzuki Solio (WagonR's Premium Cousin) is spied in India for the first time in Gurugram.
It is expected to make India debut at the 2018 Auto Expo next month.
