Injured War Heroes to take on the 2013 Dakar Rally

A team of soldiers injured in war take on the toughest event in motor racing as they start the 2013 Dakar Rally scheduled to flag off on 5th January.

In one of the episodes, Top Gear had featured these soldiers.

Hats off to your spirit and all the best for your efforts.

Why do you call them "herores" vs. soldiers ? What heroic act did they do ?

It takes a lot of courage to fight the war waged by ignorant idiots who are sitting in their cozy offices and bungalows. These soldiers have lost their limbs fighting a dirty war, they have faced the bullets and explosives which maimed their lives.
If these soldiers are not heroes then who do you consider as heroes?

Maybe they might have, that's beside the point.
I am not forcing you to accept them as heroes, I am saluting their courage to recover from the horrors they have faced in an ugly war.

I do not want to continue this argument anymore.

Cool down !! The article which you yourself have provided a link in the Opening Post, does not refer to them war heroes. So, was wondering as to why you chose that title, and hence the question.

You are free to decide who in your opinion are heroes, war heroes or otherwise.

The Race2Recovery Team has created a record for being the first disabled group to complete the most difficult race in motorsports.

Hats off to their resolve and determination.
