I've a humble Santro. The last time I changed tyres, I stuck to the Hyundai recommended Bridgestones, the tube type. This time I went tubeless on Michellin, Energy XM2. These are more expensive than Bridgestone.

Not sure, if it is because of new tyres or if Michellin is genuinely great, the ride quality has significantly improved. The ride is not as bumpy as it used to be on Bangalore roads. Didn't upsize though.

Drive Safe,

Re: Drove a Formula car, Clio Cup car & more @ Sepang! Michelin Pilot Experience 2013

Rehaan, fantastic write-up. I happened to be the fortunate few who have been part of the MPE and could recall every inpiring moment you have described!! Great script and snaps - which I have been wanting to do all this time.

Loved every minute of the episode which I was part of a year back and I happened to win the MPE 2012 award as well ... You can view the same at:

Though I managed decent lap times for an amateur, consider it a race of "L Boards" who are trying to understand what driving a car is all about.

Truly loved the Formula Renault with its low driving position and direct feedback - the closest I could get to F1!! I even asked them if I could take that car home instead of the trophy...

Ofcourse the fun continued with the pros taking you for a spin in the 2-seater for a couple of laps; I remember seated like a frog holding the grab bar to which my dear life was attached to. Though the sound was deafening, it was better than any song I have heard in my life.

I understood what G forces really meant only when I sat on that car, until then it was all hear-say stuffs. The citroen on the dirt track was good fun too with a bit of drifting, while the Clio and FR on the smooth sepang was a dream come true. I must admit I have no clue on what the cars could achieve as I didnt want to mess up my dream day but can assure that in the hands of a pro, the cars can really stand out.

Cheers, Harish
