A Street Circuit and a Night Race, just hope it adds a little excitement and Glamour to the Dull season. The only excitement this season has shown is Weber's retirement, Massa's Exit, and Kimi back to SCARLET Shades.

SINGAPORE TRACK DATA

Race Date: 22 Sep 2013

Circuit Name: Marina Bay Street Circuit

First Grand Prix: 2008

Number of Laps: 61

Circuit Length: 5.065 km

Race Distance: 308.828 km

Lap Record: 1:45.599 - K Raikkonen (2008)

Anyone now if Qualifying is being broadcast live? I only FP1 & FP2 in the schedule.

Conservative tire choice by Pirelli t bring the Super soft and Medium rather the Super Soft and Softs like last year. Hope its not a boring race.

Big race with big decisions that need to be made depending on the result. Ferrari will potentially throw in the towel.

Hope this race is not a very boring one. This phase of the season is really RBR territory! Though it may feel like we we were already in one. Come on Webbo! :D

You're right. Cannot find the live telecast in the TV listings. I see a recorded telecast early morning on Sunday. (2AM and 3AM)

There are minor changes to the track, Turn 10 chicane, known as 'Singapore Sling' has been removed and replaced with a single-apex left-hand bend. Corner entry speed is to be about 40 kmh faster. To compensate for the increase in speed, an extra layer of TecPro barriers will line the end of the Turn 10 run-off as an added safety measure

Seems there is a slight chance of race starting on a damp or wet track on Sunday. It has never rained in Singapore during the sessions on either Sat or Sun since the start in 2008.

The weather here is so unpredicatable in the past few days with occasional showers almost every day. A bit of rain would definitely make it interesting.

Don't know how the visibility will be with the spray under lights. Are you going for the race? Last chance to bask in the scream of those V8s. :)

I do not have tickets as now. I will go to circuit on Sat/Sunday and will see if i can get tickets at the spot. Weather forecast says that this weekend is relatively dry.

Nope, I will be in front of the TV. Just for the experience I attended the 2010 race (which Alonso won), but to be honest the night spectacle is more enjoyable via television screen.

But I maybe around the area later this evening or tomorrow, just to catch the engine roar :)

Live telecasts on Star 2, no HD or anything! Sad!!

Just to give a flavor of the madness surrounding this race, my room at the Mandarin Oriental, which cost S$300 or so last week, will shoot up to about S$1,000 this weekend because it has a view of the track.

Mercedes is looking stronger in Singapore.

FP 1
Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Webber swapped the top spot several times before Hamilton's 1m47.055s secured top spot. Rosberg completed the top four ahead of Kimi and Grosjean. Fernando Alonso was the fastest Ferrari in seventh.

FP 2
Sebastian Vettel beat Webber to the fastest time after a mighty battle between the duo. Third-placed Nico Rosberg, who pipped Hamilton by 0.110s, was a second off Vettel's pace. Grosjean was 5th ahead of Alonso, Jenson and Kimi.

So finally its "congratulations Vettel on retaining your title" IMO.
It hasn't been an exciting season atleast for me. Hope to see Raikkonen do some wonders next year at the Prancing Horse..

No, It is confirmed in foxsportsasia official page, Sunday race is only on Starsports 2 SD.
ESPN HD and Star cricket HD will air Premier league and Champions league respectively.
For all F1 enthusiasts it's a big let down by ESPN HD second time in a row.
