Re: C S Santosh is the first Indian to participate in Dakar Rally

A history is been made here by CS Santosh, being the first Indian to participate and complete the notorious Dakar Rally. The icing on the cake is he finished 36th overall on his debut, that is a remarkable achievement. I am both happy and sad, happy because CS Santosh has made us proud and sad because only a handful of us know about this. Leave alone WRC not many here know what the Dakar Rally really is, as someone mentioned it is the world cup of rallying.

CS Santosh finishing the dakar rally and that too while nursing a broken toe is remarkable and shows his determination. Hope he gets more sponsorship and due recognition for his efforts. I would like to see him in the next year Dakar Rally and following years as well.

I wish he gets enough funding to go again next year, I wish he gets at least some media attention next year, I wish people realize the extent of his current achievement and I wish some TV channel airs the entire event next year.

Re: C S Santosh is the first Indian to participate in Dakar Rally

Kudos to Santosh on the magnificent finish.

I had a dream to update the entire rally with news and insights but I was run over by a taxi which made me battle for life leaving me with few plates and 27 screws in my face and a fortnight of horrible pain.

Coming to the primary point, Santosh has made us proud not with just his participation at Dakar. He did not just complete but he showed what Indians really are. With a fractured leg and freezing temperatures he was brave enough to make us proud. If he has done this the very first time, I am sure he will aim at the top 10 results going forward.

It was business as usual for KTM and Honda emerged with great results. TVS Sherco even though had a great start had their misfortunes through the race. Yamaha disappointed all their fans with a dismal performance :-(

Once again, Santosh your achievement has touched the hearts of Indians bro :-) May god bless you with a good sponsor and better luck next time :-) :-)

Sam Sunderland from Britain wins the race. The rankings show C.S Santhosh at 47. The official website is a mess !
