Team-BHP
(

With the 2015 season about to start, its time to kick off this year's fantasy leagues. I've created the GP Predictor league for TBHP, that we played last year. Rules are same as last year, but here is the link for the benefit of new players this year -
http://gppredictor.com/howtoplay Here is the link to join the TBHP GP Predictor league:

The other league that we played last year (f1frl.com) is no longer working. I hope they bring it back in time for the season start.
All,
If you find any additional league that is exciting, please add details to this thread.

Edit:
Here are the instructions to join the mini-league:
Create a team in

Go to your "Pitwall" and navigate to "Friends Leagues"
Choose Join an existing league and select "TeamBHP" from the dropdown.
Provide passcode as "057619"

http://www.fantasyleaguegp.com/ has a fee associated with team creation. Each entry costs £10.
Exploring the f1manager. Kimi seems to cost more than Vettel, Alonso and Bottas. There seems to be some serious flaw in their pricing model! Looks like they don't like Kimi :D
Or is it because Kimi is more valuable and set to perform better than the others you have mentioned? :D
As deetjohn has said, lets keep it to two leagues. Last season I missed atleast 8 races in the GP Predictor and F1frl was a disaster because I exhausted the number of changes which were allowed, just 2-3 races into the season! Will be careful this time.

Here are my 2 cents on the options I explored:
Option 1: GP Predictor (mentioned already in the opening post and played last year)
Rules link:
http://gppredictor.com/howtoplay
Key points:
- Sponsored by Autosport which could help in FIA not shutting down this league.
- Bonus points make it possible for folks who join 1-2 races later to catch-up if they manage a good prediction.
- Going by the scoring system last year, this league had a lot more chances of big leads vanishing and people catching up with a good weekend.
- Have to update the team for each race; carries forward the selection from previous race if team is not updated.
- No 'budget' management.
Option 2: F1 Manager
Rules Link:
http://f1manager.info/faq
Key points:
- 2 drivers, 1 engine and 1 chassis is to be selected with initial budget of 100M.
- This follows the concept of evolving the team as the season goes on.
- No restrictions on the number of changes.
- Everyone would have to start with mid-field or back marker teams based on initial allowance.
- Additional budget (2M fixed & 0.5M per point earned) is awarded after each race, based on how your team performs. This can be used to upgrade the teams.
- Higher rewards for better performance.
- Depreciation of 10% value is applicable when you change a component of your team.
Option 3: Fantasy-F1-League
Rules Link:
http://www.fantasy-f1-league.com/rules.php
Key points:
- 3 drivers, 1 Engine, 1 Chassis, 1 Aero is to be selected.
- 2 changes per race are allowed once season starts.
- Starts with 100M total cost. Teams get additional 1M/2M/3M after each race, depending on how bad they perform: £1M for all teams, £2M for those scoring less than the average score and £3M for those scoring zero.
- Those who join after a few races would get 3M for each missed race to catch up.
- The value of drivers, aero, chassis and engine components change after each race to reflect their performance in that race.
- Risk: It is already mentioned that this league would be shut down in case FIA threatens with legal action.
Option 3 has mentioned that FIA has been threatening legal action and forcing some of the fantasy leagues to shut down unless licensing fees is paid to FIA. So there is a risk of the league disappearing midway through the season, which could be applicable even in the case of others.
Guys,
With 1 week left for the season start, please provide your inputs on the leagues we should pick for this year so that everyone would get time to setup their teams before the first race.
Here is a 4th option I came across:
Badger GP
Rules link:
http://badgergp.com/fantasygp/guide/
Key points:
- Very elaborate F1 fantasy game that involves Qualifying, Race, team budget management and predictions.
- 3 drivers and 3 constructors to be selected with a 75M budget.
- Race weekend predictions for pole, podium, fastest lap and safety car count which adds to the points
- Bonus points for beating the teammate in qualifying, gaining positions during the race etc.
- Elaborate points system could potentially minimize the advantage for the very obvious team configuration.
- Mobile app for iOS and Android if someone wants to pay Rs. 75. :D
My recommendation: Badger GP and GP Predictor.
I was informed that the FIA has gone after our older FRL along with other parties which use the 'F1' in their name, which according to FIA is their IP, in order to collect fees!.
I'll be watching this thread and we'll go after one singular Fantasy league that everyone is on board with this time around and please just one and not two like the last time : ). I hope we can come to a decision at the latest by monday.
Due to lack of any objections so far, I've setup a mini-league in Badger GP as well. Looks like we have more silent readers than active members. :)
Here are the instructions to join the mini-league:
- Create a team in http://badgergp.com/fantasygp/
- Go to your "Pitwall" and navigate to "Friends Leagues"
- Choose Join an existing league and select "TeamBHP" from the dropdown.
- Provide passcode as "057619"
P.S: Once the team is created, don't forget to set the predictions from the pitwall menu.
Considering GP Predictor is the only free league where we could potentially get some real prizes, I would say we keep that too.
I am now on GP Predictor and Badger GP. Just zenren and me on badger so far :).

I personally don't care for real life rewards but whatever the people want is fine by me of course.
Zen since you've done all the research on alternatives you run the F1 Fantasy League this year, whichever one(or two!) that may be : ).
So I signed up with Badger GP as well. Team name: "AmbitiousButRubbish" :D
I hope Badger GP & the Autosport GP Predictor are the only two leagues we are following this time round?
Joining GP Predictor and Badger GP as "Octane_Power". Quite a tight budget in Badger GP I must say!!

I signed up with Badger GP as well. Team name: Forzapower and joined the team bhp league as well.
Signed up for GP Predictor as Naman_Ferrari :D
I'll play just one this year since its my first.
Signed up in Badger GP. Nice site. :thumbs up
But Badger GP looks like a mix of GP Predictor and our old FRL. So, will have to update each race weekend. Going to be tough. FRL was totally hassle free in that regard. Create, save, forget and collect points. :)
I am thinking about ditching GP Predictor now.
