Does anyone have an idea how much does Raymond as a company sponsor all Gautam's events, drives, races, cars, upkeep, etc. I am sure it adds in brand recognition and brand showcase during all similar events, drives.

One of the main problems Indian racers have had is getting proper sponsorship. Narain Karthikeyan was succesful in getting TATA and JK tyres to back him up. Chandok didnt seem to enjoy that much backing.

I cant say in terms of figures but they sponsor everything he does in racing. Its his kingdom after all. The establishment is on a revival as well so I dont think there are any problems in coughing up the funds. I am curious to know if Ferrari assist in any way. It is a racing series for Ferrari owners, I wonder if they help with logistics, technical support etc.

Good luck to Mr. Singhania. Hope he does his country proud! I am sure a lot of us will be backing him.

I believe it's an 'arrive and drive' format. The entry fee includes everything from the car to the support and even transport and accommodation in most cases.

Getting a coach is a great move and I'm sure he'll be really good this year.

Re: Gautam Singhania to race in Ferrari Challenge European Championship 2015

Gautam Hari Singhania has secured a double podium finish in the first round of the Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015, which was held at Monza, Italy. After qualifying in fourth and third positions for race 1 and race 2, he finished third in both races in the Coppa Shell category, becoming the first Indian to get a podium in the championship.

Gautam Singhania races for Kessel racing, a Swiss Team. Former F1 driver and current GT driver Andrea Motermini is his coach for the entire season.

The Coppa Shell category saw Ericha Prinoth (Ineco – Mp Racing) who had qualified in pole position, managing to keep his lead ahead of Jacques Duvyer. Gautam Singhania almost immediately after the start, moved up into third. Prinoth, Duvyer and Singhania pulled away from the rest of the field along with Thomas Lindroth (Baron Service) and Eric Cheung (AF Corse).

At the last corner of the last lap, halfway through the Parabolica, Prinoth found a slower car right in his line and had to slow. Duyver, who had got fastest out of the corner, took advantage of Prinoth’s misfortune, passed him and went on to win the race. Gautam Singhania, who scripted the fastest lap of the race, came in third.

Great work Mr. Singhania. Hope you keep this up for the rest of the championship. Fastest lap of the race means a lot more than it does. Even though there are no points for it.
