He accepted that Rossi was faster and would pass him sooner or later. He was surely miffed about the fact that the overtake came so early in the race.

Somewhere in the middle of their conversation, Lorenzo said to Rossi, "Don't laugh!, don't laugh!"

And I had a very good laugh watching it! 😄

Once again, tyre choice made a difference. Taking nothing away from Dani, who was flawless, had he been on harder tyres the results would been different. Marquez was pushing all the way on the hardest option, yet he was far from challenging Vale.
Jack, Crutclow, Marquez himself won races in the season by making right tyre choices.

A bit more about Lorenzo-Rossi spat.

Have to say that both Lorenzo and Rossi were bit like school kids. What was evident was that Rossi clearly interfered before Lorenzo finished his statement and that pissed him off. Also, Rossi was caught on backfoot when Lorenzo asked him to give an example of when he was riding rough. Rossi couldn't answer and said that he cannot recollect right then. This is not typical swashbuckling, quick witted Rossi. He was not his normal self. Probably was still upset that he had just lost his home race. Either ways the loser here was Yamaha..both their riders worked up bad publicity. Winner was Dorna..were prompt to share this as free video. Controversy sells!

Firstly I'm a Rossi fan not a Lorenzo or Marquez fan, but Jorge was simply responding to a question asked by a journalist and he is entitled to answer the question with an honest opinion, he did not go running to race direction calling for a penalty and he did not raise the issue without being prompted and he is also quite right to point out that if the journalist asked the question about the overtake maybe being a little harsh then surely that means that the journalist also thought that maybe it was a little harsh as well otherwise he wouldn't have asked.
The only mistake Lorenzo has made here is to give an honest opinion, from a PR point of view he should have just said "no I don't think the move was too aggressive, I like a lot the hard battle" but as we all know Lorenzo has never been one to play media games and never will be."

I now opine that Lorenzo was more mature by not going to Race Direction (as opined in my previous post). He was entitled give his version of story and Rossi just tried to gate crash. Regarding laughing: Rossi was just caught off guard when Lorenzo questioned him. He had no answer but smile sheepishly..

Nice gesture by Aprilia GP. They promised their riders to give an RS 2015 GP if they qualified to QP2. Bautista did just that at Misano

JL99 gets an extra-large dollop of hate from the latter who are plentiful. Pedrosa and Crutchlow had the same complaints with the tyres, but only one man was painted as sore complainer. When Rossi admitted they could have been faster and more competitive if it hadn't rained, that goes unnoticed - but same day post-race Lorenzo says he'd be faster with better chance of winning if it didn't rain, the fanboys howl in mockery.
Yeah, on second thought, JL should've gone to Dorna over the overtake but he didn't ; but a journalist asks if it was an aggressive move, he says it was and I agree it was, but well within what I'd consider legal as far racing rules go, same with DP's overtake of VR.

I don't dwell too much in the behind the scenes chats and brickbats, so for me it was TV off post race celebrations and I recall on multiple occasions, Lorenzo admitted in the short post-race question that he has xyz problems and so wasn't fast enough to stay in front that day. Of course, Rossi doesn't specify the reason as much or as often, which JL's detractors like to use as ammo as "excuses".

I reckon whosoever can keep VR from winning trophies will be the recipient of that 'affection' , in 2007-2011 it was Stoner, once JL got hang of riding the M1 in 2009, he joined the hit list. If Vinales does end up the strongest 1-2 overall in a season on the M1, which given how much they say the Suzukis are similar in handling to the Yamahas, should be an easier transition than JL to Ducati , he'll be quickly on the list too. Be prepared MV25, you've been warned!

8 different winners in 8 races, that's a turn of events. MM still leading comfortably by points, so even though he's not winning as many races, he's tallying up with podium finish consistency. Usually the season champion wins 6-9 of the races - double digits occasionally like MM93's 13 or 14 wins in 2013/14 season. It gets more unpredictable with each race!

So how did DP26, with soft tyres (supposedly should have worn out by the last 7-8 laps) , on a bike with admitted/known traction problems excerbated more by his lithe frame , convincingly speed past VR on a better bike, in the dry, on a better tyre choice so as to have enough life to fight it out in the last laps, on a track Rossi knows like the back of his hand? In my opinion, Rossi just gave up the fight. That was like a bat-outta-hell ride by DP, he's not been on podium there a while, I think.

Can't agree more. Vinales can be quick on Yamaha immediately. No doubt he will get brickbats once he starts bettering Rossi, which according to my guess should not take more than one season.

Phenomenal pole position by Marquez. No rider is within half a second of him! In race pace too he seems to be having that half a second advantage. My prediction for podium is Marquez, Vinales, Rossi. The spanner in the works could be weather. Thunderstorms predicted exactly at 2:00 PM tomorrow! If that happens, it could be anyone's race.

Lorenzo has a new Shark themed helmet. Very cool design I would say.

As expected Marquez blew everyone away! In this form, he could have won even from back of the grid. Surprise result was Lorenzo's. I was not expecting him on podium. Championship is now more or less over for Rossi. Marquez can afford 2 DNF and still be in lead.

There is already a conspiracy theory about Spaniards helping each other(payback time?? :D) to stop anyone challenging for the championship.
You must have seen, how the winner and the runner up celebrated by hugging each other in parc ferme. lol:
