Formula E: Mahindra Racing wins maiden ePrix in Berlin

Mahindra Racing registered its first-ever win in the Formula E racing series with its driver Felix Rosenqvist finishing first in the first of the two races at the Berlin ePrix. The team's second driver - Nick Heidfeld also made it to the podium after finishing third. The two Mahindra Racing drivers were split by Lucas di Grassi from ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport, Audi's Formula E team.

The qualifying of the race was termed as the closest-ever qualifying session in the history of the Formula E Championship. Lucas Di Grassi took pole position with a margin of just 0.001 seconds over Jose Maria Lopez. Rosenqvist started from third on the grid but soon overtook Jose Maria Lopez and Lucas di Grassi, with the latter constantly suffering from braking and regeneration issues due to battery heating problem.

The Swedish driver did get into a nervous situation when he made an error before his mandatory car swap, though he managed to rejoin the track on the leading position and crossed the chequered flag to bring Mahindra Racing's first ever Formula E win. Meanwhile, Nick Heidfeld took third place for his third race in a row.

Interestingly, in the second race of the weekend, Mahindra Racing driver Felix Rosenqvist was again the first to cross the finish line with a lead of 2.9 seconds. However, he was handed over a 10-second penalty due to an unsafe pit stop, which saw him almost crashing into his team mate Nick Heidfeld. Despite the penalty, he managed to finish in second place.

Im happy to read this and see it too. My old friend from childhood is their team principal and he's doing some solidly good work on F. E.

The future of motoring is certainly here. Wonder how long it will take us Petrol and Dieselheads to move over to the E-World.

So nice to see my old pal (the large gent, right in the centre, with the red cap!) He deserves a solid round of applause. Always has been an Auto Enthusiast and a Mr Fixit too, being a Mechanical Engineer.
I really am SO PROUD of him. We literally grew up together right from childhood in the Plantations and through our school days.
