Looks like someone Photoshopped Magnussen to look like a referee!lol:

This is what he looked like at the press conference:

I wonder if a person could have been more straightforward even if they tried!

Quote:

Q: (Dieter Rencken – Racing Lines) Sebastian, you’ve admitted that you made a foul. Why did it take you so long then to actually apologise? Why did you have to wait until after you’d appeared before an FIA investigation?

SV: I don't have your number. I don’t want it. So, I don’t feel the need to talk to… sorry… all of you for more than what I have to. So, I think the person that I had to talk to was Lewis, that was the most important. Obviously then Monday I went to Paris to see the FIA, we had the hearing, they asked me my opinion in terms of what happened, to run through the incidents, that’s what I did, so yeah, I don’t think, as I said, there was a need to talk to you straight after. You’re not the most important people I think. As I said, the most important for me is the guy I’m racing with, is Lewis, and that’s the one I decided to call first.

You scared me for a bit there, buddy (I hate afternoon races). These are the IST timings:

Lewis will get a 5 place grid penalty for a gearbox swap.

The current gearbox was fitted at round 7 in Canada, two races ago. By rule, it has to last 6 consecutive races.

Mercedes and especially Lewis is looking good though! Topped both practices till now. Vettel was able to close back to within 0.147s in FP2.

The race start just became more interesting now that Lewis will start from the 3rd row.

Here's the McLaren pitstop that I was referring to. Refreshing change & confirmation that 'Big Ron' has indeed left the building.

That qualifying was a damp squib!

As boring as it could get in Q3 even though Max tried his level best to make it interesting by ruining 3 brand new sets of tyres in three different runs. lol: And there was yellow flag right at the end spoiling the run for many.

Anyways, congratulations in order for Bottas, and he got Vettel alongside. Lewis will start from 8th on the grid after qualifying third. Hoping to see some real action from there on what looks like a very fast car. :thumbs up

Well done Bottas.. coming into his own.

I dont think we'l see much overtaking on this track.

Honda going back to the earlier Spec 2 engine after an overnight MGU H problem.

Well done Bottas. Last minutes laps in Q3 got impacted due to yellow in sector 2.

Did Hamilton refused to shake hand with Vettel when asked by the interviewer?

Hamilton had already shook hands with Vettal when the 3 made their way to the interview spot. So i am guessing Hamilton said he has already shook Vettal's hands or something to that effect.

The media, as usual, wants to sensationalize it!

I won't be sorry if Davide Valsecchi never does an interview again. He seems jumpy and drones on about irrelevant stuff most times. Makes the hyperactive Eddie Jordan seem subdued by comparison. Eddie at least knows his F1, to be fair.

What a last few laps!!

There are very few drivers I would have put my money on to defend against Hamilton but Ricciardo is one of them What a defence on the penultimate lap. A real honey badger!!

Drive on,
Shibu

And bottas was holding on really well inspite of Vettel charging on. 0.6s is a close finish

Superb driving by bottas and sebclap:

What a boring race! The commentary was even worse. It was like two Hamilton fanboys had gotten to the mike!

The only highlight of the race was the last lap, but Perez spoiled the fun by delaying Vettel. Else it would have been a photo finish like the last race in Baku.

The biggest disappointment was the lousy driving by Kvyat which took out both Alonso and Verstappen.

I missed the race and saw only the last few laps. And when nearly half of the race highlights show only those closing laps, you know you didn't miss much. :)

Bottas got lucky with the start. He made a great judgement call as to when the lights will go out and was within the threshold set by FIA for jump starts.

Charlie normally does his best to randomize the timing of lights so that drivers cannot second guess when it will go out completely, but it looks like Bottas got incredibly lucky here. Well! Fortune favors the brave.

And, we got a three way fight for the title now. :D

Vettel - 171
Lewis - 151
Bottas - 136
