Senior - BHPian | ![]() Romain Grosjean better be fit. The guy in the past has been in trouble in hot / humid conditions if I remember it right. His performance suddenly dips in such conditions & I won't be surprised if he retires for one reason or the other this time at SGP. Well, nobody really pays attention to this guy since he literally leap-frogged Alonso's Ferrari in Belgium... |

Looks like Ferrari will end up having to fend a dual challenge from Mercedes and RBR. In such scenarios they generally like to add a 3rd variable of strategic errors and pit stop blunders. Looks like fun weekend ahead! Expected announcements about McLaren, Honda, Renault & Sainz. Now we wait to know the fate of Palmer & Massa.

BHPian | ![]() FP2 Timings: ![]() Looks like a RBR 1-2 is on the cards. Ferrari is not looking good. Don't think they are sandbagging. Behind McLarens here. Shows how chassis dependent the track is. Although the McLarens might drop a few places when everyone turns their engines up. Lewis might get a decisive lead here unless something goes wrong. | ![]() I am wondering as to why Ferrari chose the use 'softs' throughout session 2. Never used either of the softer compounds. Something brewing. I will keep my eyes peeled. |

I agree with you. Don't think Ferrari is sandbagging, the team is struggling with setup issues especially on ultra-soft. But hopefully it will come around like it did in Hungary. ![]() Saw the forecast was for rain on both Sat and Sun at Marina Bay. If that's the case, then the race can turn on its head. Ferrari needs a 1-2, nothing else will do this weekend. Even if the team pulls it off here, the rest of the season is going to be really hard. Lewis on that Mercedes is operating at a different level altogether. Hopefully we are going to get a fight till Abu Dhabi. And for that, Ferrari needs a very strong Singapore starting today. Here is FP2

BHPian | ![]() A bit of a premature end to the FP3 due to a red flag means many drivers did not probably complete their fastest laps. In any case, Vettel seems to have found the rhythm. ![]() McLarens probably will line up as the best of the rest. It will be fantastic if they can get at least some front runners in quali. ![]() ![]() |

Senior - BHPian | ![]() It took a mega lap from Vettel to keep the Red Bulls from pole. That was an incredibly committed lap and I hope the touch on the wall out of turn 19 did not do any significant damage. With Verstappen alongside, tomorrow's start is going to be crucial. Mercedes expected a difficult weekend and it has matched what they feared. Drive on, Shibu. |
