Circuit Info:

Although Singapore hosted numerous non-championship races in the late 60s and early 70s, there was not a race after 1974. The announcement of the new event came at the end of 2007 and was met with mixed reaction from fans. Excitement began to build when the FIA announced that to ensure prime-time viewing for the European market the Marina Bay circuit would host F1's first ever night race.

The non-permanent road circuit brought in innovative lighting techniques to ensure daylight conditions for the drivers and those working in the pits, while still offering spectators the atmospheric conditions of a night race. The first race in 2008 was won by Renault's Fernando Alonso, it was a complete sell-out, but will always be marred by the crashgate scandal. It later emerged that Renault asked driver Nelson Piquet Jnr to deliberately crash his car, in order to help his team-mate Alonso win the race.

For the 2009 race the circuit was modified through the first three turns to encourage more overtaking, modifications were also made to the high kerbs at turn ten that had caused so many accidents the previous year

Pole position is very important here, as the chances to overtake are close to NIL.

I think the Redbulls will spring a surprise here. Not very good news for Ferrari and Vettel.

FP3 just got over and Vettel was totally ahead! Too early to predict but Vettel should take pole with ease. But you never know, Merc and Lewis always pull something out of the bag during Q3. However RBR seem well off the pace as of now.

That was an awesome qualy lap from Hamilton. Brilliant.
He deserved pole with that lap.
Ferrari have a lot of work to do tomorrow.
With Verstappen in 2nd place, it is very important for Vettel get ahead of him at the start.

Thanks for that information.
I set my stb to record quali, but the idiots at star sports decided to switch channels to show some men kicking balls for fun.

That was a really special lap from Lewis and Mercedes in Q3. Wow!

Ferrari struggled to bring the fight to both Red Bull and Mercedes. Will be a tall order for them tomorrow.

Qualifying lap of the year candidate by both Lewis and Max.

6/10s faster than Ferrari was probably better than anyone expected from Merc, and Max just 3/10s off pole with a significantly inferior engine is right up there for quality.

One of my biggest regrets of the turbo era, wondering what RB could've done with a Merc or Ferrari engine.

Even Mercedes were surprised by Hamilton's lap. Lewis is without doubt the best driver on the grid right now.

Great qualifying session with a mega twist at the end.

I hope Ferrari realise they need Alonso more than ever to deliver a championship. He got some much closer with a car well off the pace, Vettel is struggling with the quickest car under him. Just see how close Kimi is. Alonso always blew him away.

Great lap by Max as well. Should be an exciting start to the race with 3 diff cars occupying the top 3.

Superb lap by Hamilton!clap: With Verstappen separating Hamilton and Vettel, first corner / first lap will be very interesting

Force India is looking good again:thumbs up.

I just hope Max and Lewis keep it clean in the 1st corner. Max has nothing to lose really and having seen him race, he will be looking to get out of the 1st corner in the lead.

Alonso is in perfect position for the race, and a podium position is on cards for him. He'll probably start on Ultrasoft and switch to soft. All the top 10 will have to pit earlier, will put them into traffic. It's going to be very interesting. Mammoth lap by Hamilton again. That's pure talent. Again, Ferrari messing up drivers chances.
Hope the race doesn't turn out to be boring.

Taken the subscription. The 999 one. Now where do I find the race, or a replay of the qualifying?
