Re: The 2019 MotoGP championship thread

Marc Marquez single handedly winning the constructors championship for Honda (and that too on there home GP).

Now only thing open is the team championship.

Re: The 2019 MotoGP championship thread

Looks like everybody has lost interest in the Moto GP championship after Marquez won the title with several races to go

The Malaysian GP qualifying was far more interesting than the actual race. Marquez went out for a lap in Q2, and quickly understood that he does not have the pace, and wanted to follow Fabio Quartararo to get a good lap time - possibly even pole. Fabio was blisteringly quick and had set a new lap record in FP2, which he again bettered to break the record in FP3! Fabio did a quick lap or two before going in for a tyre change, Marquez followed him into the pits, and out of the pit too.

Fabio having noticed that he is being tailed by Marquez, rolled off the throttle and tried to lose him. But Marquez too rolled of the throttle and adamant to follow Fabio. Fabio lost one hot lap trying to lose this tail, and this annoyed him a lot as he was visibly signally and waving at Marquez. And since time was running out, Fabio had no choice and decided to push, which is when Marquez lost his rear and had a high-side ruining his qualifying and he had to start from 11th place. Fabio went on to set yet another lap record and qualified with pole!

But sadly Fabio had a bad start and went to 8th place in the first lap, and finished the race there. Marquez meanwhile improved to 5th at the end of lap-1 and went on to finish the race at 2nd place. Vinales was at his own and was untouchable all through the race and lead from the 1st lap to the last to win the Malaysian GP !

Dovizioso, Rossi and Alex Rins put up a decent show to fight for the 3rd place and finished in the same order - 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Re: The 2019 MotoGP championship thread

Alex Marquez has been signed to ride the other Repsol Honda. The reigning Moto2 champion will join his elder brother, to be the first siblings riding for same team in premier class.
This also means in all probability, Zarco will take the seat vacated by Alex Marquez.

Re: The 2019 MotoGP championship thread

Even though I don't usually post in the Motorbikes Section, this was too good to be passed.

KTM is selling 2 of their 2019-spec RC16 MotoGP bike along with a pair of race-spec overalls, a helmet & other added benefits.

The Price? 288,000 euros (excluding VAT)

KTM is selling 2 MotoGP spec bikes.
