TL:DR -

• Reddit went agog when spy shots from a UK petrol pump shooting a commercial confirmed the impending Gulf Mclaren tie up, showcasing the widespread fan appeal
• Mclaren boss Zak Brown, ever the canny marketer, doesn't miss an opportunity to do a one off Gulf livery in their famous papaya and powder blue for Monaco (the most high profile race advertising wise)
• So just as the FIA relaxed their stance on helmet design changes in light of popular one off designs by drivers, maybe they should introduce a rule allowing each team 1 joker livery so to speak.

A great example they gave was for Haas. For the North American races, they could really stand to gain massively if they could do a one off livery featuring the many American sponsors they feature in Nascar for example. Would go a long way towards bolstering their already shaky bottom line.
