According to a media report, Porsche is said to have filed an application to trademark the word 'F1nally', indicating the brand's return to Formula 1 in the near future.

Porsche is said to have filed the application with the German Patent & Trademark Office. Reports suggest that the trademark has been filed under various classes, ranging from merchandising to video games to R&D, analysis, administration, software design & development and scientific & technological services among others.



These clearly indicate that Porsche is likely to be handling the powertrain development, for the start of the 2026 season when the new engine regulations come into effect.

There have been reports of Porsche working towards buying a 50% stake in Red Bull. While details are still unclear, it is possible that the German brand could work with Red Bull Technology to co-develop powertrains in the future.

Porsche's entry into F1 is part of the Volkswagen Group's wider push to enter the sport. The group is also exploring opportunities to enter Formula 1 with its Audi brand as well.

As per BBC, the deal between Porsche & Red Bull has been called off.

A Porsche statement said: "The premise was always that a partnership would be based on an equal footing."


It said this would "include not only an engine partnership but also the team. This could not be achieved".


Porsche had wanted to gain a shareholding in Red Bull and have influence in team operations, while Red Bull wanted to keep independence. The two positions could not be reconciled.
