Yea, Piastri moved over for Lando for a non existent championship hopes to McLaren.

Oscar drove brilliantly during the Sprint. Managed the pace well and made sure that Lando was within DRS range so that he could defend against Charles. He wanted to make a statement that he could've easily won the race but handed it over. Lando was just sounding frustrated on the radio.

The stewards seemed to wait for the McLarens to switch positions before bringing out the VSC. Felt very strange at the time. Even the commentators mentioned that Nico was out of the car and was walking but the track still just had a yellow flag. Make what of that you will.

Meanwhile, Max has been demoted to 4th place for virtual safety car infringement - Source . He also has a 5-place grid penalty for the race.

Qualifying didn't happen on Saturday thanks to the rain.

The new timings are -

Qualifying - 16:00 hrs

Race - 21:00 hrs

Lando on pole for the race and Max starts on 17th. Great chance for Lando to reduce the gap, but with the weather conditions, it’s going to be a great showdown.

Oh what Ferrari is thinking? Another pitstop blunder by pitting and releasing Leclerc on to the traffic.

Edit : It’s red flag now with advantage Max. A red flag was always around the corner, no idea why the leaders decided to pit earlier.

Absolutely Mad Drive today by Max, from 17 to winning the race and that too with such an inclement weather, he was in a different zone today.

This probably seals the Championship as well, what a way to make a statement and seal the deal.

Vintage Max!! P1 after June, long time coming, but what a time to step up.

McLaren and Lando couldn’t capitalize on the great opportunity to reduce the championship gap, but it’s Max who decides to have all the fun by winning all the way from 17th on the grid. Great race Alpine pairs too with double podiums and jumped the constructors championship from 9th to 6th.

Now Max has lead of 62 points with only 86 points to play for. He can wrap his 4th championship in Vegas by finishing ahead of Norris.

Max was in a league of 1 today. What a drive!

It was an amazing race in very challenging conditions. Max has almost sealed the championship unless something really dramatic happens.

Cheers

What a sensational drive from Max! Absolutely champion stuff.

The commentators talking about how the Alpine cars finishing 2-3 gets them tens of millions of $ in prize money this car, and the impact of this on car development next year (among bonuses, team size etc.) - just shows how the sport depends so crucially on money, probably just as much as it does on talent and experience. They go from 9th to 6th in the Constructors' Championship, even surpassing the jr Red Bull team!

In other news, this race make a big difference to the Championship, with Max's win bringing him within touching distance of the title.

What a drive from Max! Nothing short of a Masterclass in the rain. Pulled away by 19 seconds in the end!

Some incredible racing in the wet conditions. Max with all the overtakes, going wheel to wheel into turn 1 round the outside with Charles. They both understand each other so well now that it's just a joy to watch them race hard against each other.

It was hard to watch Lewis. Struggling so much with the car. P10 was his worst Interlagos result since he joined Mercedes in 2013. I think the only good thing about the weekend for him would've been driving the Ayrton Senna's MP4/5B.

Both Alpines made the most of the situation. The commentator mentioned that this jump from 9th to 6th in the constructors is worth about 50 million dollars! That's how important it was for them.

Any idea what happened to the Norris aborted start incident? It was supposed to be investigated after the race.

Like him or not, Max is the purest racer on the grid (despite the few inexplicable moments he has once in a while). One can count on him for delivering the goods when it matters and extract the most out of his car. I was thinking just before the race - its Brazil, it's raining and Max is on P17, surely we are going to see a Max masterclass. And boy did he perform!
A fearless and frankly a peerless drive! One for the ages.

What a race weekend this was. Absolutely Brilliant

Max showed the whole world why he is a 3 times world champion and about to be 4 times. He drove brilliantly in the rain and was overtaking cars with ease when others were simply struggling to keep the cars on track. This is how he should drive and win Championships, not by dive bombing and pushing the opponents out of track.

This weekend showed why Lando is still not ready to challenge for WDC. Couldn't over take Oscar in the sprint race, lost the lead in turn one in the race, ran wide few times and getting frustrated.

The reason why Lewis and max are brilliant is because they make far less errors and just grind down their opponents with consistence. Lando has to really pick his game up for the next season.

It was painful to watch Lewis struggle so much this weekend, not sure if it was the car or the frustration. May be both.

I had a bet with my son that Ocon will do well if the race is full wet. Boy, dint he drive well

Regards

The stewards ruled that Norris and Russell's actions had "triggered following drivers to take similar action.

Having judged both to be accountable for other drivers' actions, the stewards assigned Norris and Russell a reprimand and a €5000 fine.

Tsunoda and Lawson escaped without penalty.

Russell took fourth for a Mercedes team that was also fined a combined €10,000 for adjusting the tyre pressures on both of its cars while the wheels were fitted on the grid after the aborted start.
