For me, it is Lando Norris who helped McLaren win constructors championship after decades. Also, he along with Piastri presented a formidable challenge to no.1 team after a long while - making the sport more interesting. Otherwise one-sided race wins made it a bit boring. Nothing to take away from Red Bull & Max's dominance due to superior engineering & racing acumen respectively.

Max without any doubt. He did not have the dominant car for a better part of the season, but still ensured that he won his 4th title by a significant margin.

That drive in the rain was amazing and probably one of the best I have seen since Schumacher (the original rain master).

Max has also matured over the last couple of years and tries not to take undue risks (though, sometimes his "beast" mode still comes out, but less frequently - like in the first corner of the last race where he took out Oscar).

Lando would be in the second spot for me. Already looking forward to 2025 and the battles between Lando and Max. Lando really needs to improve on his starts. He lost position in many when he started from pole.

As per me, driver of the year is Lando Norris. With the much improved mclaren car, he has shown that he is a race winning driver and can really do wonders if he gets a fast car from the start of season. Mclaren's got off to a slow start this year and it was only around mid season that they really started winning. The only downside of lando is his race starts in which he actually ends up losing places. I think this problem is due to the mclaren's tuning of the mercedes engine. Even when lando got off perfectly, the car initially makes less power somehow.

As for max, the red bull was clearly the fastest car at the start of season and he really made merry till the time the rest of the cars caught up with them. Even till the end of season, red bull was still second or third fastest kind of car. However i am at present really fed up of max's antics on the track, shunt out the car if you cannot keep them behind. He really needs to improve his on track driving in wheel to wheel racing otherwise he is MSC, Senna kind of driver, effortlessly fast without making mistakes. And i really cannot understand why red bull have stuck with perez for so long, the guy is at present an embarrassment, he has scored 8-9 points in last 9 races ! Even Zhou, Bottas, Magnussen kind of drivers would have easily scored atleast 30-40 points in that many races in a car like red bull.

I Voted for Max Verstappen!

I'm no way a Max fan but this year, with the 3rd fastest car in the grid, he maximized the effort on all the races to get that WDC. Yes he was agressive and there were some questionable move, but this season is way different to 2022 and 2023, as he did not have a dominant car but still managed to dominate the WDC.

For me, it's Max by a country mile. He may not have always gotten it right, some of the tantrums were a bit silly but there's no denying the sheer talent and consistency he showed this year.

Unlike the majority of the votes, which went in favour of the hotshots of the F1 world, I went for Franco Colapinto. That guy made waves in the few races he raced for Williams, often outpacing seasoned co-driver Alex Albon. His Azerbaijan GP outing was especially notable for a rookie in only his 2nd F1 race, in what was a low-mid level FW46.
I've got high hopes from him. The only other successful rookie in recent times in my books was Piastri with McLaren in 2023, but then again, Oscar had an arguably better car in the MCL60.

If there is one name that pops in the mind when someone says 'who outperformed the car this year' it has got to be Max.
The Red Bull car was no where near the dominant force it once used to be. Despite that, to win the championship with a couple of races to spare is just outstanding. His wizardry in Brazil 2024 especially was something out of this world. Checo finishing 8th overall some 250 odd point behind shows how good Max was (and also what a struggle it was for Checo in the car).

I am a huge Alonso fan btw but Max truly is in a league of his own.

Not to criticise anyone, but did people voting for Lewis here actually watch the season? So many mistakes and below par performances throughout the season in both races and qualifying. I understand the nostalgia and the fact that lewis is a legend but this was one of his worst years.

Not Allowed to vote but three drivers out performed the car they were driving:

1. Max for obviously winning the drivers but more importantly post Canadian GP to finish on regular podiums despite second/third/fourth best car on grid. Brazil was simply lovely

2. Gasly to finish on 42 points in that alpine and also cost the team 0$ in damages.

3. Charles for just how consistent he has been especially in the second half and to come this close to P2 was amazing.

When your apprecition is sports is based on both talent and character - Max will always fall out of favor.
Voted for Norris who is the next best in the circuit at the moment.

Voted for Max. Inspite of having an inferior car for most of the season, he delivered.

Waiting for Lewis to perform in a Ferrari

I'm voting for Piastri. Despite being only in his second season, he showed a very calm head on his shoulders and ultimately his performance prevented Ferrari from getting any closer to McLaren in the constructors championship. I'm sure we will see more of him in the years ahead.

Us Lewis fans are almost as hard-core as the max ones.
Though, you should have caught the vote for Sergio Perez before reaching Lewis.

Definitely a hard-core max fan but with absolute respect for Lewis as well. Now that you mention I do see one vote for checo but i assume and sincerely hope that was someone being sarcastic

Voted for Max

Been his fan since his 2016 Brazil drive and the epic overtake on Rosberg.This year's Brazil drive was further proof that Max is on a class of his own and I can confidently say no other driver on the current grid has reached his level (yet).

It was hilarious at one point to see British media hyping up Lando as a contender but frankly I think there was enough evidence visible this year that proved Lando has a long way to go before being a WDC. I frankly feel Oscar will beat him next year and has a better chance at fighting for the championship.

Kudos to Mclaren though for building one hell of a car despite not being a works team or even having an exclusive engine partnership. Definitely deserved the constructor title this year.

Voted for Lando. To me, racing should be clean and sportive. Max, though is a great driver, did not race clean when put under pressure.
