FIA confirms drivers entry for 2008 World Championship

Well the official entry list for the 2008 World Championship has been published.

Here it goes:

Ferrari
1 Kimi Raikkonen (FIN)
2 Felipe Massa (BR)

BMW Sauber
3 Nick Heidfeld (D)
4 Robert Kubica (PL)

Renault
5 Fernando Alonso (E)
6 Nelson Piquet (BR)

Williams Toyota
7 Nico Rosberg (D)
8 Kazuki Nakajima (J)

Red Bull Renault
9 David Coulthard (GB)
10 Mark Webber (AUS)

Toyota
11 Jarno Trulli (I)
12 Timo Glock (D)

STR Ferrari
14 Sebastien Bourdais (F)
15 Sebastian Vettel (D)

Honda
16 Jenson Button (GB)
17 Rubens Barrichello (BR)

Super Aguri Honda
18 Takuma Sato (J)
19 Anthony Davidson (GB)

Force India
20 Adrian Sutil (D)
21 TBA

McLaren Mercedes
22 Lewis Hamilton (GB)
23 Heikki Kovalainen (FIN)

That leaves two big names on the bench. One> Ralf Schumacher and Two> Giancarlo Fisichella. Both of them likely to be absorbed by Team Force India. Wooo Hoo. But, yesterday Fisichella confirmed that he wont be paying to get a drivers seat on the 2008 grid, so that gives Ralf a better chance.

IMHO I don't think even Ralf is ready to pay for his seat. He was one of the highest paid driver in the paddock even though his performance was not up to the mark. So expecting Ralf to pay for a driver's seat is quite unlikely.

But who knows, things might just turn around at the last moment.

Because its considered unlucky

The FIA doesn't assign this number to any car because it is considered unlucky.

I would like to see an experienced driver join Force India. Sutil is young and quick. What they need now is someone who can help develop the car and has a bit of technical knowledge - much like Wurz did for Williams last year. He might not have been the quickest, but Frank Williams acknowledged that he played a big part in the development of the car.
