This statement is more or less true in the case of any supporter, may be a Ferrari/Mclaren/Renault/ForceIndia fan. Its seen as an extra ordinary thing since its coming from a Ferrari fan.

Didnt the Mclaren boys who hated Alonso in 2005 & 2006 cheer for Alonso in 2007 (Probably the early half of 2007)?

Nopes. I am a McLaren fan and I very much cheered for Alonso even when he was in a Renault. I cheered for MS when he was driving a Benetton and later a Ferrari till 2002. I was not unhappy to see Kimi Raikkonen win the WDC last year either. I cheered for him from 2002 till 2004.
I cheered for my hero, Ayrton Senna in his last year when he was driving a Williams - a team which I have an indifferent attitude for.

Hats off to your passion! :)

Still, a majority of them (Not just our folks in TBHP) happen to do what I had mentioned!

This is a usual character of fans in sport. Nothing abnormal to it. Lets not over see it.

I too am a McLaren supporter and i certainly wanted LH to win the WDC Last year but i did not feel unhappy to see Kimi win the WDC. But for the misfortunes he's had in the past, He too is a good driver and diserved the WDC, even before if not last year.
AND i'm not saying this just because Aditya said so... :)

Kinda unfair over here to assume that all fans are like that!!

If you feel this is who you are, then so be it! Why drag everyone else along?

Not quite my friend!

Whatever I've mentioned here is a fact in general which is applicable to every sports which also includes F1.

Do you think you will not be happy if Ross Brawn joins Mclaren!? I know how much Michael, Todt and Brawn were hated by Mclaren Team & fans during the Ferrari domination times!

I must admit, I don't like Brawn or Todt. But, I've always respected what they achieved. Bringing back a team from a useless position is not an easy thing to do. I never hated MS. Further, I never ever made any comments like X should take him out of the race or Y should put him into the wall. I haven't wished anyone ill luck.
Hate someone if you have to, but, appreciate him if he does something well. That's all I'm trying to say.
We are Indians - passionate about our country, passionate about cricket. We love to see our team win. Yet, we appreciate the Aussies for being as dominant over the past decade as they have been, don't we? We appreciate Warnie and McGrath, Lara (WI) for their achievements, right?

O yaar we are going OT again. They hate, you hate. Eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind (atleast one eyed for sure).

Ross can go join any Tom Dick Harry Team for all i care. Alonso can go drive for any team he chooses. Ferrari can go for any driver they want! Mainoo Kee??

All i want is to see good, hard, competitive racing on the track.

However, its the extreme generalisations that make me go "what??"

I am no ferrari or mclaren fan but i want massa to be near the pole position and hamilton somewhere behind him and alonso inbetween the two of them so that i get to see a good race!

I want to see some good racing in Brazil. No crash outs obviously. Some good racing on track and finally a Massa win! Massa and the brazilian crowd is magical!

BTW! Does anyone have a pic of the brazilian beauty who was spotted by the FOM Cameras during last year's GP! :D
