Second race of the year and the second time I'm watching it here in Malaysia. Unlike last time though there was no Team-bhp group here. I missed not syncing up with the guys here last time even though I was here. I have to admit I'm not a great fan of F1, I was there this time mainly for the fact that its very close to where I stay and there was an Indian team participating.

This time though I had a few of my friends from Singapore for company. Cutting the crap out of it. We were there for both the qualifying and the race day in Sepang. The first set of pictures will be from the Qualifying day 22nd March 2008.

I left a bit late on the day and could reach the track at 2:20PM, the F1 qualifiers had already started and the 1st round was just about to finish. Just caught a glimpse of the Team Force India which qualified at 17th and 21st positions. I was in the C2 stand which though not the most expensive gives an expansive view of the track and has the most crowd to enjoy the spirit of racing.

It was nice to see the Ferrari team in full force. And let me remind you guys again there was a huge following for team Ferrari here. You could see the red brigade just about everywhere, waving the flags and cheering for the team.

After the F1 qualifying rounds we waited for the GP2 asia races to start. Shortly after the race started it started drizzling and soon the accidents were happening by the minute. The race was halted temporarily and after the change of tyres race was started again.

This time it was much better but there were still some spin-offs, skids and crashes. It was sad to see the Indian driver get banged close to the end of the race, well what can be done!

Anyway, here are some pictures from the 22nd. I'd love to see your comments on them. Thanks.

Using my quota of smilies for the post stupid:agree:

lucky you.. am waiting for the rest of the action. Did you shoot pics of Force India cars also ?

Wow!! Thats gotta be one cool experience!!
clap:

Fantastic! Waiting for the rest of the report SKS!

Thanks for the replies guys. But I have a confession to make. Those were the worst pictures of the lot ;)

Will post up the better ones soon and the rest of the details.

sks - stop rubbing it in, as it is we are all remembering those days and you post pictures :p

And did you sit in the same stand like we did last year? How cruel to post it up here then! :Frustrati:

Oh my god its impossible to describe dude. I have been the Indianapolis US F1 twice. Those vibrations and screaming engines have bass to them as well. Each up shift and downshift there're exhaust explosions. And so much more...absolute chaos (heavenly)

Thanks buddy. As highwayblaze put it, its loud and crazy but people who like it won't mind it one bit!

My cousin went for the Silverstone when he was in the UK. He and his friend bought these red ugly ear muff kind of things as they could not take the noise in the Practice Sessions.

I was like .. What the .... ....... They actually did not want to listen to the F1 engines rev past the 19k rpm mark. What a waste of the season tickets they bought.
