Lewis Hamilton to visit Mumbai on July 24th! EDIT: PICS added!

HUUUUGE treat for all Mumbaikars!! Lewis Hamilton is to visit the Hakone kart track in Powai as part of a promotional event, on July 24th.
He will be driving a kart and people will get to race against his time. All of us (me included!) who ever thought 'I have it in me to be a F1 racer' but didn't have the moolah to pursue it, here's the chance to show Lewis up!

yeah apparently vodafone has something to do with this. all those guys with vodafones check it out.

Envy Envy. You guys are going to meet the 2008 F1 Champ.

He seems like a simple humble chap contrary to his current performance esp in the German GP where he ran right through the pack to get back to 1st.

Please try to meet him and report back.

I like that. Vodafone Mclaren Mercedes too will be 08 champ.

Any idea about the timings..?? since 24th would be thursday, that kind of makes it mostly impossibe if its during the day.

Its strange but there has been no advertising or promotion done by Vodafone, whatsoever. I would have thought an event of such proportions would have merited a greater amount of adverts for the company to gain mileage out of it. Its just the media that's reporting it and that too only two days before the event! It's supposed to be happening tomorrow but there's hardly a hue and cry about it.

Totally sucks! I would have loved to have been there. If it rains, all the more better for those who make it and see him karting sideways. He is down only for a day...maybe just a splash and dash for some ad shoots and back?

That will be an awesome experience for the guys who are going to meet him. I am not a fan of Mclaren but Lewis is brilliant.

Hey guys a friend of mine participated in the Vodafone contest, he went and collected a pass from the Vodafone office yesterday!! I envy him...the time is 1 pm, at hakone Park, powai. hamilton will set his time and the others get a chance to beat his time!

I called up Hakone, they said it is not open to the general public, only to people who won the contest...pity. If anyone else gets any information, please let me know how I can get in.

I got 2 passes! I got 2 passes! called up the Vodafone office, did my sweet talk and I got the passes!

Here's what the invite says: "Please join us for the opportunity of a lifetime, to meet racing superstar, Lewis Hamilton.

On Lewis' first ever trip to India, we're taking him back to his roots, where it all began, to the karting track.

24th July, 1 pm to 2:30 pm."

Will post pictures tomorrow!

I dont think so. Ferrari will finish 2-3 in championship hence taking the constructors title.
