so don't go in the 190 mph range , stick to lower speeds , even then there would be another 13 cars racing with you asthey would all be not exceeding a certain speed , so there would be enough competitiveness to get the to the finish line before the others .

u are right.that is same thing i recomended earlier in this post.we want victory and saftey also.Michlen should be taken to the original 14 mile nurburgring.

and this is what US Fans at the GP venue felt about the race.taken from F1live.com.

US motor racing fans weren't waiting around to see which Ferrari came out on top in the US Grand Prix Sunday after a failure to sort out concerns over the safety of Michelin tyres saw only six cars start the race.

Andy Stevens and Keith Murphy, who had spent several hundred dollars apiece to come to the race from Iowa, were heading for the exit of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway before the race was half over with '****-you Michelin' scribbled on their T-shirts.

"We don't even know what's happening, we just know we're mad at Michelin," Stevens said..
F1-live reserves right to this Quoted information.

just see this request from Michlen.because they have poor spec tyres they want to slow down all cars including bridgestone shod ones.i am shocked........

"We therefore reiterate our request to have a significant reduction of vehicle speed in turn 12/13," Michelin's letter said.

Whiting replied crisply that it was up to Michelin and the teams it supplied to protect their drivers.

"As explained in our earlier letter, your teams have the choice of running more slowly in turn 12/13, running a tyre not used in qualifying (which would attract a penalty) or repeatedly changing a tyre (subject to valid safety reasons)," Whiting said.

you are running your imagination a bit too wild as there would be no chance of the above happening if kimi would have stuck to 150 mph on that turn every lap as michael would have lapped him (as a matter of fact any driver ) a couple of times by the end of the race !

I agree that it was not good on Michlen's part to ask FIA to change the rules, but since all nine of the teams also wanted that I feel even Ferrari should have agreed to it, in the interest of F1 fans and now for sure this victory will be called a hollow victory. Anyway Iam happy for NK atleast for finishing in 4th place. :D

what is this abt slowing down in T13 ???

Michelin wanted to install a chicane coz they screwed up with their tyre ...............Ferrari said no....since they wanted to win at any costs....it wasnt as if B'stones were great sicne they had lotsa tyre deterioration on them as well..they kept on checking and at 1 time almost changed the left rear on Michael's car.

Michelin made a mistake...of not building a good tyre
Ferrari made a bigger mistake IMO of not agreeing to teh chicane proposal and I really hope they get their assses kicked at the races to follow.....

Farce 1 not Formula 1..........
I hope GPWC goes ahead and Ferrari can keep on racing the Jordans/Minardis in F1

Its only Michelin's fault, but they had to back out because their tyres weren't safe. They weren't responsible enough to get a proper tyre to the track. Why should they be allowed to alter a race?? And why would Ferrari and Bridgestone listen to that crap when everything they did was right and that they had their chance to win a GP whether or not those cars were in the race. If their cars didn't have proper tyres to race, simply don't race. 18 very very crucial points. Although it was a very sad thing, I enjoyed the race. It was supposed to be only two teams racing, Ferrari and Jordan. But Minardi ran because Jordan was in the race.

Bridgestone CAME bridgestone Saw Bridgestone conquered

its as simple as that

Why is it Ferrari's mistake that Michelin couldnt provide a tyre suitable for the race?

IMO Michelin were trying to armtwist the FIA by holding up a threat of boycott simply because they have numbers on their side. No manufacturer, supplier or any other person should be able to hold a championship to ransom and get rules changed to suit their preferences.

On top of it we now have a joint statement from 'Michelin Teams', making the rift amongst the teams all the more acute. You now have Michelin Teams v/s Bridgestone teams.

F1 should ask both tyre manufacturers to sit out of the next season and invite ONE common tyre supplier just to teach these chaps a lesson.

That one sentence pretty much summarises the race. There are a lot of arguments and opinions saying that Ferrari should have given their consent to slow the circuit down, but, why should they? And since they didn't, you feel its right to classify them as poor sports?

Infact Michilen should be heavily penalised for this. They tried to form a union as, as Steeroid says, armtwist the FIA into giving in. All because they didn't do their homework properly! That's Bull****!

And all the other teams critising Ferrari should be ashamed of themselves. If they were that concerned about the sport, they should have sent their cars out there with setup changes and basically run slower. But they chose to cheat the paying public and make a mockery of the sport. It's as simple as that.

that would be i guess Goodyear or will we have MRF.hehe

it is simply not be possible to agree on one tyre supplier.michelin made the mess and they must take the responsibility for it.it is very sad on their part to do this.if 2morrow my michelin shod roadcar crashes due to tyre failure wonder what modifications they might suggest.......PLEASE REMOVE YOUR ENGINE,BEFORE THE START OF YOUR JOURNEY

Why not??! F1 is soon going to have only one tyre supplier. Preferably in 2007.

for that question u can get the answer from the state of relations between teams in the F1 paddock.

but then what will be the rules for the selection.with current 7:3 ratio Bridgestone will be out without a fight.

i think there will no one tyre supplier rule.it will prevent events like this but it will simply reduce the fun that is there due to the tyre war in F1.what say?

but the best part will be lawsuits that will follow.wonder who will be in the firing line.Fia or Michelin.somebody is going to pay for this blunder, the messed things up in the land of lawsuits.
