Virgin Racing selects UST Global as it's IT partner.

Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Racing Formula One, a motor racing team to debut in the 2010 Formula 1 season, has signed a three-year technology partnership deal with IT services firm UST Global, which has significant presence in Kerala.

With this branding partnership, UST Global will become the IT services partner to the team. The three-year deal also translates into revenues of $10 million for the IT firm.

The company with headquarters in Aliso Viejo, US has development centers in India at Trivandrum, Chennai and Cochin.

Virgin Racing

IT Services using a Global Engagement Model

Being an Indian, employed at UST Global and a member of T-BHP, i feel proud.

Good stuff Sandeep. Now, getting to the point - are you on that project? What kind of work do they do?

Great going UST!

I always wonder what is the expansion of 'US' in formerly US Software or now UST Global. I think it is not Unites States, one of my friends who was in US Software once told 'Unni Sunny Software'

My previous company (Siemens) had this project in the automotive division on ECU embedded software development & testing of BMW. They shipped one LHD 5 series to our Indian office for testing. How I always wanted to be in that project! I don't think you as the IT partner will be doing something as closely related to racing or cars as such, but anyway it's a matter to be proud of.

Ha Ha... That is funny. I have even heard 'Unni Shankaran Software'. But I think there is no real expansion for that. Even the higher officials of the company do not seem to know of an expansion. Anyway, Unni, Shankaran or Sunny (whoever it is ) never had anything to do with the company at any point of time.

By the way, coming back to the topic, the extend of service the company will provide to Virgin Racing is yet to be seen/known.

It's strange. These Kerala based IT 'giants' not having real expansions to their names. (UST, IBS)

Anyway some good revenue there.

Clevermax, did you really miss something not being in AT? I don't think so
Anyway, by IT partner, I don't think it has something to do with the management of the car or the components inside the car. Nevertheless, it's good news for UST.
Another version of UST was "Unni-Sadasivan Technology" .

Well, it was actually valid years back when the company started, but not now. Now it is just IBS. Don't stand for anything.

Hmmm I've never worked in AT and so really can't tell what all I have missed/not missed. But definitely missed the actual BMW testing part!

Do we know each other? ---- EDIT: Gotcha!

MNC?

I don't term any such Indian company who's got their offices abroad to be as an MNC. strictly IMO. Yea theoretically yes, MNC.

Having worked in a real MNC for more than half a decade and now here, I see cosmic (read vaaaaast) differences in the way they work between these two kinds.

Not to offend anyone and sorry to go OT.
