Congratulations to Sarath Kumar !!

Congratulations to Sarath Kumar & his team. Hope they do best in their 125cc category & would like to see Sarath on podium & hearing the Indian anthem.
Here is an article regarding Sarath's debut in MOTO GP 2011's 125cc category with WTR Team, Italy who drives Aprilla Motorcycles.
(Would like to see Sarath on Aprilla riding on a newly building Greater Noida Racing circuit & winning the race there as there may be chance that India may host the MOTO GP race in 2011 on this circuit where 2011 Indian F1 GP will be held )

Great news!does anyone have a sense of what kind of budget is required to run a team like this in moto gp? I hope Indian corporates step it up with their sponsorship.

Though, I'm not a fan of race, I couldn't help drop a word of appreciation about this young boy. Just 2 years into racing & he's made to GP; there should be racing DNA or something on his genes.

I wish Sarath distinguishes a name for himself in Moto GP for the years to come.

Joel and team. All the best. I am very excited. Awesome breakthrough guys. Very soon we will see good street bikes as the market will flow with awesome bikes.

enough of those longing days of wanting to see an Indian on the motogp track.

Mahindra Racing Launches MotoGP Team

Mahindra officially launches the Mahindra Racing MotoGP Team

The only Indian manufacturer to venture into MotoGP, the pinnacle of two-wheeler sport in the world, Mahindra today officially unveiled Mahindra Racing team and announced its two riders who will ride for the team in the 2011 MotoGP season

While the news of Mahindra group venturing into the world of MotoGP in 2011 came out a while ago, the official word from Mahindra only came today morning in Mumbai, where the 7.1 billion srong Mahindra Group officially introduced its MotoGP racing team – Mahindra Racing to the media along with its two rider line-up that will compete in the 125cc class for the 2011 MotoGP season. AlbertoStrazzari, CEO of Engines Engineering, will be heading the project joined by Nicola Casadei who is Mahindra Racing’s Team Manager. Mahindra’s Mufaddal Choonia is handling the role of a Team Principal.
Engines Engineering is an Italian firm that specializes in developing motorcycles and it has been actively involved in the sport of MotoGP since 2003 developing race bikes for several teams and manufacturers. The Mahindra team officials confirmed during the launch that an all-new race-machine is ready for the upcoming tests to be held in February where the two riders will get their first taste of the new Mahindra racebike. With a strong backing from an automotive giant like Mahindra, there is certainly a strong sense of conviction and zest that was found in the Mahindra Racing team.

The two riders chosen by the team includes 19-year old Danny Webb who has shown consistent performance throughout his debut in MotoGP since he was 15 and this will be his fifth full season in the 125cc class of MotoGP. Joining him is the 18-year old Marcel Schrotter from Germany who has the German as well as European championships to his credits. The Mahindra team’s race-bike was missing from action and we will have to wait till the official tests commence in the first week of February 2011, in order to catch the first glimpse of the India team’s race-machine. We wish all the very best to Mahindra Racing team on behalf of ZigWheels and all its readers.
