guys ,
who according to you is this year's best F1 driver.

its button for me.and then kimi.
even though MS has dominated ,i think its aslo because of a superior car and tire made specifically for him.
but BAR have started from scratch and its only Button who has really matched MS in any way.
though i am a Kimi fan,i feel button was the best and he is the one to watch for in the williams next year

i hate to follow the crowd, but Schumi has been THE driver of 2004. His car may be a bit better, but look at a Rubens' pace in the same car. That really shows that extra magic schumi brings with him.

Button would be the runner up though.

The let down for me this season has been Alonso. I expected a lot from him, but he has really failed to deliver. Trulli has been better than him most of the season. Also, Alonso has made too many mistakes, the most recent of which wa spinning off on his own in Monza. He's still one of my favorite drivers though, right after MS and Fissichella.

Personally my favourite driver is Kimi... but button has been doing really well this year....
Kimi's had more than his share of badluck,.... really unfortunate..
I am not a big fan of MS at all... actually i dont like him even a little bit... he definitely is a good driver but methinks this year it was ferrari that were just so superior that nobody got anywhere close...

Anyways... looking forward to next year.. im sure kimi will win

My personal favourites are Kimi Raikkonen and Mark Webber. I'm not even a Ferrari fan when it comes to Formula 1. But, I must admit that the best driver of 2004 is Michael Schumacher.

Michael Schumacher - And I'd be surprised if anyone has doubts why. Button is probably the most improved...but the topic asks whos the best!

dominating 5 years is not a joke. consistency and this long is something really awesome
MS deserves all the credit he has got.

rtech..
alonso didnt spin off onhis own at monza..
there was an oil leak which got oil onto his tyres.. thus causing him to skid..

and do u still think barrichelo has the same car/status in the team as michael ?

Not according to the reports I read. Even Alonso admitted it was his fault. Where did you read about the oil?

Status: no.
Car: Yes. You see, when Barrichello is good, he's good, but that doesn't happen too often.

Sure Schumi has the #1 position in Ferrari, but that does not mean Ruben's gets a car that is any less capable. This is not renault (if u know what i mean )!!

This has been debated so many times before!!! Dont bring up the same things again and again!!
Barrichello may not have the same status....but he surely drives the same car that Michael does.
If he cant deliver thats his problem.

Peace!

sorry about monza guys..confused it with spa for a min.
it was his own fault at monza.. said he took the corner too fast n bounced off the kerb awkwardly..

coming back to ms & rb..
dont u guys remember sometime last yr or 2 yrs back..
when ms took rb's car before qualifying because his wasnt handling too well ?
and ms that race btw..
( wish i cud remember which one it was.. but it did happen )

and for the status..
ms is always on the more aggressive strategy - 3 stop vs 2 stop for RB
( it was the opposite at monza after ms had secured the WDC )
...now that doesnt give him a fair chance..

now coming to DNFs..
u think RB having ALL the failures is just pure coincidence ?

Not only in qualifying but Schumi raced in RB's car ... And he won ...

This is the perfect example and may be the answer to your question about failures, Schumi took his car n won it had no problems what so ever ....
And dont rule out LUCK.
Example RB's in Brazil
