RACE TIMINGS

Sat 16 April 2011
Practice 3 11:00 - 12:00
Qualifying 14:00

Sun 17 April 2011

I will not speculate anything, since

The top running teams remain the same, with only Renault having catapulted from what they were last year.

Mercedes GP have not taken any step forward in their car development.

With lot of gadgetory, F1 is slowly becoming more safer and more Boring.

Hope the season unfolds better than the way it is right now.

Re: F1 2011 - Chinese Grand Prix

When MB is going to give a top car to MS?

Sad to see him struggling. He is really charged up, but cannot progress due to lack of pace and high tyre wear when compared to top 4.

Looking forward to China.

Cheers!

Schumacher's start in the Malaysia GP. Too bad, the race pace of the car sucked, but what a start :

You said it mate! But I think it's more of FIA regulations than gadgets.

Any updates on what weather we can expect for the GP?

EDIT: And the start by Nick was amazing in the Malaysian GP, though I kept wondering what the Ferrari guys were doing! They were fastest on the start (as they mostly are) but somehow couldn't make best of the opportunity.

Its the same old last years story. RedBulls are the Fastest, Mclarens are Fast Catching up, Ferrari's are not too far behind.. Renault is giving some tough fights , Force India are now the Mid-field Runners, And Mercedes GP are stuck where they are...... So monotonous....

I really dont see any significant changes or a step forward by any mid-field teams this year, so its always the Top - 3 Fighting.....

Vettel again fastest in second practice. I get a feeling this year Vettel will walk away with the title half way through the races.

Re: F1 2011 - Chinese Grand Prix

Vettel on pole again. Yawn!
Great result for Force India though! Paul DiResta starts 8th and Sutil 11th.
Sutil missed Q3 by a whisker.

Re: F1 2011 - Chinese Grand Prix

petrov's car stopping two minutes before end of Q2, screwed upped the chances for a few
FI did not get to put in one more lap
Sutil and di Resta would have perhaps both made it to Q3FI speeds were good also in practice sessions.

RedBulls:

Vettel and his Car are a great combination

Webber and his Car seems to have Trouble

Mclaren Mercedes :

Hamilton and Button has Cars that are doing wonders for the team.

Ferrari :

Both the drivers are having a great car thats proving every race

Mercedes GP :

While Nico has got the new Aero Package, Micheal did not, till now both are struggling.

Renault:

Great Car, good drivers. Might throw in a lot of surprises to the top teams this season.

Re: F1 2011 - Chinese Grand Prix

watch out for alonso this race. he is looking good despite qualifying 5th. But clearly ferrari has a lot of catching up to do.

And you say f1 is boring? f1 is not just a 2 hr long race every other sunday. it is about technology, innovation, evolution, engineering, aerodynamics, team politics, team mate politics. I get a high seeing every teams design changes every year. I love seeing the cars evolve every race, The strategies they apply, the battle between team mates. F1 is so much more. If u focus on the whole package of f1 then you wont get bored. If all u are interested in is race track action then my friends you are following the wrong sport.

Re: F1 2011 - Chinese Grand Prix

What a brilliant race!!!
Great drive by Hamilton and Webber, way to go Mclaren.

The day belongs to Webber, a brilliant drive to get to podium from 18th place on the grid.

The tyres are a great equalizer. If you are on wrong tyres, you are just a sitting duck.

While the McLaren is the only team competing with RBR, the only team with the 'wonder car' seems to the the ones painted blue - Red Bull. Doesn't matter if their KERS fails, or the DRS doesn't work, or even risking with a 2stop strategy.. they still end up on the podium! Damn!

Ferrari certainly DONT have a great car at the moment. They've been struggling over the last three races which for sure isn't good.

Anyways, was a nice race although it wasn't as exciting as the Malaysian GP. Great drive by Webber to finish on the podium despite all the issues hes been having. And lets not forget he did it without KERS!

McLaren and Mercedes also seem to have stepped up to RBR's challenge and managed to finish pretty decently. Buttons pit stop incident was pretty hilarious, stopping in Red Bulls pit instead of McLarens'. Good for him that he was not summoned by the stewards.

While Ferrari on the other hand!! Whats going on! Massa was purely lucky he didn't get penalized, Alonso wasn't in the best of form, the car was not what most expect from Ferrari!! They better get their scheduled upgrade pack for Istanbul right if they even want to be anywhere near the front runners.
