Dear BHPians

We stay in Kodaikanal - moved in about 4 years ago. We love to travel, especially by road and was introduced to TEAM BHP, by a close friend. Great to be part of this community.

Roads within Kodaikanal have deteriorated a lot - sadly, there is no sign of any repairs happening. The Ghat road, especially from Madurai end, is quite bad. First 10 km up the hill is okay but then, it becomes quite awful Just hope that the authorities do something. (There was a severe landslide a couple of years ago).

The NH roads in TN are however, great. Enjoy the drive to Trichy Madurai, Coimbatore.

We had an Indigo Marina, till about a month back. Now, we've gone in for the Toyota Etios (Sedan) - petrol version. Feels really good

Hope to be active on this forum....Until next time, CIAO and happy motoring, to all....!

Re: Dear BHPians

Let me be the first one to welcome you to the forum..
My first and only visit to Kodaikanal was a wonderful experience; I found the place very beautiful.

You could post some user reviews of your car for the benefit of everyone, looking forward to it.

Welcome. Congratulations (belated) on the Etios. Hope you'll share your initial ownership report in the ownership threads. I am in the process of trying to decide on a car myself. Would love to hear about how your Etios is turning out for you.

Thanks - yes indeed, the Etios is doing well. We've not driven much because of the incessant rains and deteriorating road conditions hereabouts...its got worse in the last fortnight !

However, we did go for a short drive on the NH to Madurai and it was a dream run...! Most surprising thing was that at about 80 kmph (and above), the steering is very steady...I beleive the power steering is configured in a manner that at low speed, the steering is very easy and at high speed it "holds" so that there's no chance of any jerks. Remarkable indeed.

Etios handles really well. No issues, really. Will update in the days ahead, when we drive a bit more. Haven't checked on the milage though.

Regards -
