Hello,

I am Venkat, 48 from Mumbai. I love driving motobikes ( earlier ) and cars. My preferred vacation is to take a touring vacation by car. Fortunately my family also loves this idea.

In the past I have done I have done many road trips driving on my own.

1. Mumbai - Hyderabad about 3 times
2. Mumbai - Kerala once
3. Mumbai - Udipi and sourrounding areas - once
4. Mumbai - Nasik etc many times
5. Mumbai - Pune Every week

For the long trips, I also maintain a log of my Kms and timings etc. I would be willing to share this with anyone, if they so desire.

This coming summer of 2006, I plan to take a 14 days vacation driving down by road. Mumbai - Goa - Guruvayoor - Munnar - Thekkady - Kumarakom - Cochin and back is the plan.

Nice to know about this forum since I was searching all over for something like this.

What car is it that you use for these trips?

The car that I will be useing for the Kerala trip this summer is the old trustworthy, 1999 model Honda City 1.3L. It has logged over 150,000 kms and I have given it for a good overhaul.

Getting shockups, windscreen, clutch plate etc changed for the trip. I am also planning a LCD screen / VCD/DVD player to keep the kids engaged.

Earlier car used to be Maruti 800.
