Hi Everyone

Am Soumen, SAP consultant by profession, petrohead by heart

My affair with two wheelers dates back to 1996 when I first learnt to ride a scooter(Bajaj Super). Learnt driving a car in 2002 on the now legendary Maruti 800.

Relationship with automoile :

Got my 1st bike(RTR160) after i started earning in 2007. Got it pimped up by Joel(Ten10 Racing) in Bangalore around 2010. Now it sports a 172cc bore & a FFE pumping around 18bhp @9500(figure claimed by Joel from his dyno tests). The bump in performance is clearly visible and the setup has worked like a charm for me(touchwood) for last 25000kms.

From the plains, along the rivers,across the valleys,over the mountains to the end of land(beaches)...22,000kms of touring and 30,000+ kms of city commuting. A 5 year old relationship. And that's my 'partner in crime:'HAPPY'



Bought my 1st car back in 2010(Maruti Estilo). Reason for choosing ESTILO was it would be used mainly by Dad within the city and he needed peace of mind and decent mileage. WagonR was too common,ALTO was a little cramped for dad(5'11) and in a city like Jamshedpur Marutis are the only ones you can go for if you need peace of mind.

I drive it extensively whenever home. Have even done a 1100kms pan-coastal orissa trip. Very easy to drive within city but on highways its a scary boat post 100kmph. Never the less its performing its duties pretty well, no complains whatsoever.




Have been following TBhp for more than half a decade now simply because of its no-nonsense, unbiased take on automobile. Looking forward to a healthy stay on this informative forum.

That is really a nice intro you have given of your .
I was kinda surprised when i saw the name "soumen" in tbhp as this is my elder brothers name :-).
Looks like you also have a good hand behind the lense also .

Yeah bro. Like I said , I tour quite a bit on bike/car and I believe they aren't complete unless the moments/views are captured. So I do click a bit.

Thanks bro. I have a modest prosumer(5 year old SONY DSC H50) which helps me capture the memories.

Just one advise from my side. Do read the rules and try to adhere to them. Your posts have smilies more in number than permitted. As a newbie, I also did the same mistake and learnt later that at times, we do tend to use them more to express emotions, but then rules are for a better reading experience and they should be followed.

Thanks man...Am not sure how gud or bad I am at it but capturing the moments complete a ride/drive/trip for me.

I used to do quite a bit of documenting(read photologues) till 2010. Hope will get the spark to restart it once I do anything BIG.
