Hello Everyone from a Pune Member!

Hi T-BHP'ians! I am 25 years old, recently a co-founder of a startup company and from IT field like many others I assume . I've recently joined the forum but was an unregistered member scouring for information since years before registering. I was/am a bike enthusiast also being member of xbhp, having bought my bike (Honda Unicorn) and learning more about it through basic performance modifications with my own earned money during college.

After college, when I could fund myself enough, bought a Tata Nano 2012 and with that my interest in four wheels could materialize. Now, having driven the Nano for two years and keenly following posts on Team-BHP, I decided to go for pre-loved sedan as the Nano was not really comfortable for really long drives. Note that nothing was wrong with the vehicle, we did 400km Pune-Malwan almost non-stop, but its just not as comfortable for the person driving at least. I will discuss the experience of Nano and buying the sedan in separate posts (whenever allowed ) but basically I kept my patience well for almost 3 months before finalizing on a Honda City ZX Exi 2006 model. Now, I am an owner of these two rides.

Looking forward to a great experience as a member on team-bhp, to learn so much and also contribute what I can. I have recently started out on my exploration of four wheel rides so hope I will be tolerated a bit whenever I err with any of the rules on the forum though I'll do my best to not.

Welcome to Team-BHP!

Congrats on the startup. Entrepreneurship = . What does it do?

There's some mouth-watering deals on pre-loved cars in the marketplace. Hope you got the City for a good price and wish you many happy kms with it.

Re: Hello Everyone from a Pune Member!

Thanks GTO and the_skyliner

We are a start-up on the lines of "IT for infrastructure" currently targeting tolling, highway safety, basically Intelligent Transportation Systems. Most of the products are developed and partners have vast experience in the field. I basically handle all the software part. Another project is for Home Automation Switch Panel and Solar LED Lighting (Communication over Power Lines)

I would definitely attend whenever a Pune meet is called. In fact, I just met two team-bhp members at Tune-Up Plus, Baner when I went to have my City ZX checked-up against a quote from Honda A.S.S. I got the vehicle for 3.5 lacs inclusive of Sequential CNG Kit. Before buying had got it checked up from Deccan Honda who suggested a suspension overhaul is coming shortly. I was ok with it.

After buying the vehicle, recently at a comprehensive check-up at Crystal Honda, Bavdhan, I got a quote of around 1 lac :O

Suggested Repairs:
All wheels bearing replacement (Front+Rear) - 13,500 + 9,500
Suspension Over-haul - 18,500
Clutch Over-haul - 13,000
Steering Rack Replacement - 45,000
Wheels Rims - 1700 * 4 (Requested by Me after I changed tyres to S322 tubeless)
Brake Disc Skimming - 3000
Other repairs - 12,000
Labour - Extra

There are so many things I'd like to discuss like my apprehension with the CNG kit but I am going through the forum first to find the appropriate threads where I can continue the discussion.

Welcome to team-bhp jagzrk!
Do tell us more about your City. Did it really have those many obvious issues when you bought it or is Crystal Honda trying to push unnecessary things down your throat ? The estimate makes me go :O .
PS : The_Skyliner too is a young entrepreneur like yourself.
PPS: See you around in the Pune meets.

Re: Hello Everyone from a Pune Member!

Thanks sajo! I've started a thread in test drive and initial ownership with the full story.

The issues do not seem obvious or maybe the hondas hide their age really well. I didnt know about these before buying except the suspension overhaul and maybe some minor expenses. Never did a detailed checkup spending a full day for that at the SS, which should be actually done in my opinion.

I feel Crystal Honda is trying to push these things unnecessarily. To be fair to them, they would simply like to replace any part (instead of attempting repair) with the slightest doubt on a 70k done vehicle so that they are always safe.

Really looking forward to the pune meet.
