Vanakkam Team-BHP, from Chennai!

Hello everyone! Elated to be a part of this forum. I have been hanging around here for quite some time (3.5 years, to be precise), and was waiting to get a ride for myself before becoming a member! Now that I have finally got myself an Alto K10, here I am, in the company of the most enthusiastic petrol heads of India!

A lot of credit goes to Team-BHP for piquing my interest in automobiles. I was intrigued by the LTD and LCLC stickers on cars on the road, and that is how I chanced upon this forum. And I have been hooked ever since!

I am 24, and have been riding a bike for the past 6.5 years (Discover 135 followed by Apache RTR 160) before I decided to graduate to something on four wheels. I have always liked the Alto (except the new 800; gosh is that an eyesore!), and when I heard that the last decent looking Alto (2010 model year K10) was going out of production, I immediately rushed to book one. Thankfully, it was the last batch and I was able to lay my hands on a Beige VXi. MSIL makes good cars, but I feel they need to concentrate a little on aesthetics as well.

I have always been fascinated by long drives, and with a car in my garage now, I hope to undertake some trips and explore the wonderful land that is India.

Besides, I am thoroughly interested in supercars, and my current favourite is the F-Type. What a gorgeous machine she is!

Lastly, I would like to thank everyone here for stressing the importance of road safety. It is the absolute need of the hour, what with India being the accident capital of the world.

Looking forward to more wonderful experiences with Team-BHP!

Cheers,
Srinath

Thanks a lot, Swami!

I graduated in Computer Science from Anna University, Chennai and am a software engineer by profession. Basically, I code for food!

Besides auto, I am hugely into tech and as a result, when I am not on Team-BHP, you can find me scouring the internet for tech related stuff.

This apart, I love music, and am a die hard ARR fan! The playlist in my car is mostly his music.

I am not into films; I like comedies though. I am a Gounder fanatic (If you are Tamilian, you know what I am talking about ).

And I am a resident of Jafferkhanpet. I drive/ride 28 KMs a day to and from office. It's a maddening experience, to say the least. How I wish motorists were much more considerate towards others on the road!

Great to know more about you Srinath.
Me too a Koundamani fan and post him vaigai puyal.
Most of my TV time is only on Aditya or Sirippoli .

I live in virugambakkam and looking at your home and your travel distance, I think we work pretty close by. I'm working at Siruseri,

Is your office on the OMR?

Mod note: The italicized word best describes fanatic in Tamil. And reserved for the particular individual in question!

Kandhanchavadi itself is quite far from siruseri and considering peak traffic, it would take 45mins. By the way I think you travel 14 + 14 kms per day.

I travel 38 + 38 per day.

But nowadays I come through maduravoyal by-pass and travel 47+47kms. Not many can beat that I think

But the good thing is, taking this route I almost save 20-30mins one way.

Ah yes! I think i worded my initial post regarding my travel distance incorrectly. I indeed drive 14+14 KMs.

That must be one hectic drive every single day! But being a BHPian, you should be enjoying your drive, ain't it? I certainly do
