Finally in, after many outs

Hi all,

Glad to be part of this elite forum of auto enthusiasts. I had to follow Swami Vivekanand's quote on "Arise Awake and Stop not until you succeed". After many failed attempts, finally made it to the forum. I have been reading this forum since 2009 I believe and I am really amazed by the amount of knowledge and experience the folks have here on anything and everything

I am basically from Mangalore, born and brought up in Coorg and working in Symphony which is part of Harman now. I am one of those folks who is confused on what to do in life, handle business or take care of our estate in Coorg or enjoy the traffic and stressful life in Bangalore!! Oh yea, stuck in this state of mind for quite some time now without any inference and don't see that in near future as well!

Got my licence in 2001, have spent a lot of monsoon's offroading with my dad in our old Mahindra 550 DI in mushy roads leading to our estate, did try my hand many times not knowing that there was a world of offroading and when I realized it, jeep was sold and I was in my cubicle, in front of my laptop. Current drive is Fiat Punto MJD 75 BHP remapped by Wolfmoto with Duster 110 RXL (O) and Maruto Alto 800 in the family.

I like travelling and have covered most of South India, mostly on lone drives, just exploring. I have driven in UK, France, most loved Autobahns in Germany etc but mostly on rental cars. A drive to LEH is in the cards in near future, hoping that it will materialize.

This is about me. Really happy that I am in, time to memorize the rules before I receive any warnings from the moderators because cant go this pain of registering all over again .

Thats quite some amount of driving in and out of the country. Would love to hear about your experiences on solo drives as well.

Regarding what to do, they say its always good to have options. One idea is to be away from the city and get to do what you like. While the counter thought, enjoy the urban comfort and develop the parallel back-up for instant getaway whenever needed !

Welcome again, and look forwards to your logs.

Thanks a lot ampere for your warm welcome.

Coming to the options that you have mentioned above , as of now I am stuck in option 2, aim is to move towards first option. How and when, only God knows!

Thanks puntoer for your wishes. Checked in your introduction thread that you have booked a Punto, which indeed a very good choice. My car has completed 50K+ kilometers and still I enjoy the drive every time I take it out.
