Hello again everyone!

I have been away for a long while now, busy settling down in a new place, learning tricks of the new place and so forth. But I guess it's time to come back and say Hello to my friends back home!

So; Hello everyone! I will try to be more regular here from now on. Feels nice to be back and seeing the familiar layout and forum sections.

Any old timers still around?

Hello familiar name! How are you?

And wow! The pic brings a tear to my eye... I had hair once!

Seriously though, I'll definitely have to update the profile pic. This one is circa 2008. I am now a married, "domesticated" man driving two Subaru vehicles that are decidedly commuter grade. That's pretty much all I have to say on the subject!

Back in the old days, another member called v12 mentioned over at either xBhp or RDDreams (I'm not sure now), about this “new cars focussed” forum. Around those years i.e. 1999 – 2003 , motorcycling forums were all the rage and for good reason - most of the Indian generation that embraced the notion of internet for fun / social networking / chatting / making online friends etc was still relatively young and motorcycles were a more affordable and accessible pleasure for most. However, most of the motorcycle enthusiasts also liked cars and were definitely looking for a forum to fulfill that need. TBhp came about and fulfilled the need not a moment sooner!

Those early years were also when you saw pretty much every automotive forum use a different forum software – each one looked & behaved differently and you simple things like attaching a photo, a hyperlink and (gasp!) a video had different approaches to them. Eventually, phpBB (RDDreams still uses that!) and Vbulletin emerged as the two platforms of choice. Vbulletin was definitely the “Apple” of forums and had an aesthetically pleasing layout for the readers, good and easy customizations for the forum admin (who may or may not be a computer guy) etc etc. Basically, if Forum A had Vbulletin and Forum B did not, then Forum A would appear more “legit” to a casual reader and had instant likability. TBhp appeared “legit” from day 1 to pretty much everyone’s eyes including mine.

Do I feel proud being an old member? Sure I do.
This was a nice, well respected forum with good readership eight years ago. I’m happy to say, it’s appears to be the same situation now

Thank You to you too! Nice to see old timers in here. Atleast someone I recognize!
The forums on the other hand make me feel like I’ve been living under a rock all these years. So many new developments on the Indian automotive scene… so much to catch up!

Re: Hello again everyone!

Nice to see you back here. Just like you said- Domesticated- it's now the same situation with most of us as well as Tbhp. Never the less the knowledge and information base remains the same. For the wild side, we always have whatsapp and FB groups. Hahaha.
