Hi from NH08

Hi everybody,

I am living in Delhi and working in Central Government service (although my work is such that it creates headache for government; I am in Audit Department headed by CAG). I spent a significant part of my life in cities situated on or around NH08 in Rajasthan, therefore the user name. Initially used to move in my father's Fiat and Maruti 800, and now a days, I have Honda Brio.

For two legged machine, I have Caliber 115 which is going to be compulsorily retired in April this year after rendering 15 years of very good service. I can not extend its life by re-registration due to 15 year life rule for petrol vehicles in Delhi.

Thanks for letting me in.

Hoodibaba. Just went and watched the ad again after ages. Was attention grabbing to say the least.

Sad that the registration can't be extended.

Re: Hi from NH08

Welcome to the TeamBhP forum and look forward to many travelogues from you.
I spent last week in Tripura and saw the Agartala-Sabroom highway called NH8!
I know that the Mumbai - Delhi national highway is also NH8 and have traveled several times between Ahmedabad and Delhi on this highway.

The NH numbers are confusing with several unrelated highways having the same number; eg. NH47 exists in Kerala-Tamil Nadu and also in Gujarat!

Have a great time with our wonderful travel forum.

Re: Hi from NH08

NHAI has changed the highway numbers but it seems that the new numbers are not that much popular. NH 8 is now NH 48 but I (and many people) prefer to call it NH 8.

Old habits die hard.
