Walrus checks in - Live from Bengaluru!

With a title like that, I have to make it a little interesting, I guess. Hey guys (and gals), I finally bit the bullet and registered to Team-BHP after years of scrolling thread after thread on this forum.

Huddle up kids, this is a long story...

A long, long time ago the bug bit me - it came out of nowhere and hit me (much like an unsuspecting motorist popping out of random streets in Bengaluru to give you the fright of your life) - I was hooked onto anything and everything with an engine and wheels.

From aping vroom noises while riding my cycle through alleys in the mean streets of Bengaluru in the 90s, to vroom-ing at a much, much more sedate pace in the clusterfunk that is Bengaluru of 2019, a lot has happened.

First, it was the motorbike that captured my imagination (even the 125cc bikes weren't spared from getting "modded" [Pro tip: "Mods" on commuter bikes is like extra ghee in masala dosa - makes everything loud and lazy) to actually owning a decently fast bike (by Indian standards), and then dragged in by the car gods to their lair.

Not a big fan of modern cars with their numerous gadgets and features, and their rather dreary "character" and indirect experience (is it even a car if it doesn't start on a cold, wet day at the traffic lights?).

On that controversial note, I end this thread. I will add a few posts about my trusted steed(s) in the days to come.

Adios muchachos!

Welcome. I should have met you in 2000 when I was selling my Premier Padmini - could have made a fortune selling it to you. You would have loved my Padmini on cold winter mornings in Delhi

Thank you! I'm easily convinced and gullible when it comes to older cars, despite me knowing the downfalls of owning and running them. It's a disease, I tell you :-)

Welcome to the Forum, Mr. Walrus.

Do give the Announcements a thorough once-over, although if you've been a lurker for some time now, I'm certain you're up to speed with the way this ship sails. We run a tight and clean ship

Looking forward to your experiences on four wheels as well as two. I'm sure you have plenty to share and contribute. Don't leave the details out, and more photographs the merrier!

Have a pleasant stay!
