Introduction

Hi everyone,

First of call, thank you to the moderators for approving my membership request.

This is my very first post on this platform. Interestingly, the day my membership got approved, was the same day I was doing the PDI and taking delivery for my in-laws new car - a Modern Steel Metallic Honda CRV. This was about 2 weeks back, on 20th September 2020 (more on the CRV later).

A brief background about me (disclaimer: a slightly long introduction):

- Age:I turn 34 next week but still a newbie in this world

- What I do: I work in consulting and currently in payment transaction management function; I am based in Mumbai, but got back to my parents and in-laws place in Delhi - NCR once the unlockdown phase 1 began and have been working remotely since.

-How did I hear about Team-BHP: I have been following team-bhp since around 2012/2013, so its a little hard to recall how I ended up on team-bhp, but if I recall correctly, I had stumbled upon team-bhp while reading some review on new launches way back in 2012/2013

- Interests: I am fond of reading/learning about cars (though a few auto enthusiasts would say that one has to enjoy driving always to call oneself as an auto enthusiast, I may disagree. I do not enjoy day to day driving, but prefer stress free driving on weekends, highway runs etc.) I prefer sedate driving. I used to be a driver with a heavy foot, but things have changed over the last couple of years. Occasionally I do gun the engine when there is an emergency (run to the airport, drop my sister to the exam center, when running late for work. Ok, technically all these are not really an emergency, but lets call it pseudo-emergency for now), but such cases are far and few.

- Cars I own and wish to own: I currently own a silver 2010 Hyundai i10 (Era-1.1 iRDE engine); which was my first new car and still find it a comfortable ride (call it a beater car now, but still good to use). The car runs perfectly fine, has absolutely no trouble, has been fairly regularly serviced at Hyundai ASS and occasionally at local FNG. (not planning to sell it any time soon, just like to proudly talk about my car). Despite the ~70bhp engine, its nimble and agile.
I have been in the market for a new car for a new months (confusion about a few personal factors which may get sorted by 2021), but will hold off on the discussion on "Which New Car?" until I am closer to the decision. Most likely: an automatic Harrier (preferably petrol), however will prefer to see how they end up delivering the petrol iteration and most likely not be among the first few customers.

-Why I ended up joining team-bhp?: I have been a follower since 2013 and have referred to team-bhp numerous times when discussing with colleagues and friends on their car purchase decisions. However occasionally I do need to seek inputs on specific queries (such as when in-laws were confused between CRV & Tucson, or figuring a way around ugly wires for dashcams or when I need to make my decision on which new car, and a few others - more on all these in the appropriate threads). Hope that I could reach out to the community for seeking these inputs. While I have limited experience in comparison to others I have seen in this community, I would definitely like to share my experiences in whatever limited capacity I can and hope that it would help someone.

We have a similar thread on the forum (link). I don't think any of us enjoy bumper-to-bumper city traffic.

Do share pictures and ownership review of the i10 as well as the CR-V. Looking forward to reading your posts on the forum.

Stay safe.
