TL,DR: Part time couch potato, part time driver, full time seeker of common sense.
With that out of the way, let me formally introduce myself. I am Manthan, staying in Mumbai (for most part of the time) and 2021 has so far been "Team"ing with good stuff (bad pun intended). To explain the beginning of this post, I work on offshore oil rigs and since it's a two month on / one month off rotation, for the most part, I am literally being a couch potato.
My other fun thing to do when I'm not home is to pick up the car keys and just drive off any place with less traffic and open roads.
To give a brief history about my relation with cars, I grew up in Muscat and my dad is a car buff. So the genes passed on to my brother and I and we used to look at all the cars when we were growing up in the Gulf. Over a period of time, my dad owned a Daewoo Racer, Rocky Jeep, Nissan Laurel, Daewoo Nubira, Nissan Sunny and Renault Fluence. We were too young to drive but old enough to read the multiple brochures. Our love for cars was so intense, we used to buy notebooks with car images on them (Dodge Viper

is still a favorite). When I came to India for further studies and stayed with relatives here, they didn't own a car. Cutting out the details, on my insistence we ended up purchasing a pre-worshipped Tata Manza Safire (christened Bertha) which served us (read me) well for about 5 years. After many memories, we had to bid farewell to Bertha as she was showing her age and exchanged it for a Tata Nexon XZA+ (Bagheera).
Since I travel for work to various places, I do come across a lot of cars which are added to the wish-list but that's an answer I can post on a different thread. Without boring you lovely people any further, I express my gratitude at Team BHP and my co-members for posting lovely stuff on this site which has many times helped me cope with the harsh environment of the sea. Even when there's limited internet connectivity, there's always a tab or two opened on the laptop which I read and re-read.
When I'm back on terra firma, I'm firm on accessing terrains I haven't been to. Just to give a little peek into how much I love driving, Bagheera just crunched 10000kms in the last 16 months (includes 3 months of lockdown and 7 months of being offshore) of which, 8000km are due to road trips. You can say I'm contributing to my own work by creating demand and supply and taking aatmanirbharta to a new level

.

P.S. No EV's for me, that would be killing my own income.
