Hello from a city slicker Hi Everyone,
My name is Avinash and I've been a resident of Bengaluru since 2013 after residing in Mumbai for close to 30 years.
I'm a Production Engineer by qualification and am one of the few lucky ones to have a career in the same field as my education. I am a partner of a family run business that is a distributor for capital equipment in the field of Plastics, Semi-Conductors, Energy and Construction. In addition to that, I'm invested in and involved part time in an IoT based startup in Bengaluru looking at their interests in business development and partnerships.
I've come across Team-BHP's forum discussions in the past few years but in the last month, while researching new cars I started to look at detailed discussions about the potentials I had listed out and frankly, now am even more confused.
Apart from work, I keep engaged with photography, music, sports (tennis mainly) and reading books. I also enjoy traveling and most of our holidays involve driving (whether myself or with taxi). A big thrill for me on my travels outside India are the drives through highways and country roads.
I started my life behind the wheel of a Maruti Suzuki Esteem in 2001 and have since then had the pleasure of owning / driving the following cars within our family. - Fiat Palio 1.2 (2001 - 2006) (Unfortunately it drowned in the 2005 Mumbai floods and post that was a nightmare to own)
- Maruti Suzuki Zen (2005 - 2011)
- Honda City (2006 - 2012)
- Maruti Suzuki SX4 (2009 - 2014) Bought it at our home in Bengaluru as we frequently traveled here on work.
- Nissan Micra (2011-2021)
- Skoda Laura Ambition 2.0 TDI (2012 - Current) Car is in Mumbai
- Maruti Suzuki A-Star (2013 - Current) - Bought to replace a 2000 Zen belonging to my Grandfather
- Honda City CVT (2014 - Current)
With my parents also moving to Bengaluru, we're on the look out for a new car and buoyed by what I am reading here, have decided to keep the Honda City for a few more years as it has only done 95K so far and runs beautifully.
I'm looking forward to being part of this interesting platform and hope to share my travelogues at some stage.
Cheers! |
