Hello from a newbie, and my car story

My name is Jose Philip and am new to teambhp. This is my first post/thread in this forum. I have visited the page a lot while looking for cars but joined teambhp recently. I have always liked cars and bikes since childhood. Topgear had a big part to play in who i am today. Learned to drive in a 2004 red Maruti alto. As my family upgraded to a 2013 Suzuki swift ZDi that became the weapon of our (Me and my elder brother) choice. My grandparents bought a 2017 Honda city and later that too came into our life. Driving a NA petrol engine was so different from a turbo diesel. We really liked the top end power and free revving nature of the engine. 2020 nov 19(my birthday) i applied for my learners license and got the driving license on 8th february 2021.

After that i asked my parents for a bike (Which i knew they would instantly disapprove given the past 2 wheel hate my family has) and they denied unsurprisingly. They told me that I could get a used car for around 2 lakhs (The amount i would have spend on a bike) as it was so much safer to travel in and they knew i couldn't go on trips without their knowledge as it would cost a lot of money for fuel when compared to a bike. i agreed and started looking for a first gen civic. After months of going through olx, facebook marketplace, i found one or two. Then i read the ownership review by our fellow teambhpian ACE f355 which sealed the deal. I went ahead and bought a 2008 Honda civic near me for 2.36 lakhs. Photos will be posted as attachment of the three cars. I might have made a few mistakes as this is my first post here. Thank you for such an amazing car community.

At least visually, the car looks fantastic. This is an iconic car in its category and I wish you many safe and long miles with it. Have fun!

Welcome Onboard buddy. Civic is an iconic car with its timeless design it’s a head turner even today in a sea of SUV’s which is the current craze.

Wish you many happy miles ahead!

Your pictures are drool worthy and tells us straight that you come from God's own country, like a fellow Bhpian Anees pointed out.

Happy to see you here and wishing you a wonderful time!

Here in our area, pretty much every curry has some kind of coconut added to it. It's really good.

Thanks a lot! I have been looking at teambhp for a while. And to be brutally honest, i didn't know what to do with it. I still don't know how to use many features. More photos will be coming soon. Stay safe.

Yeah! It looks fantastic. I suspect it has been repainted. There are a few major and minor niggles. And i kinda bought a crashed car. I was not wise enough to not believe a dealer. Not that i hate crashed cars or anything, i feel like I've been cheated. But hey, it is what it is. Thanks buddy.

I know. It's just that its not the same level of "flavor" profile in Mumbai - unless one has the luck of attending a Sadhya.
